    - Conspiracy to defraud the United States
The charge against Mr. Trump details the various methods he and co-conspirators used to try to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

-Related to efforts to obstruct the vote certification proceedings
Mr. Trump faces two charges involving the vote certification proceedings at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021: one of obstructing that process and one of conspiring to do so.

    -Conspiracy to violate civil rights
Related to Mr. Trump’s attempts to reverse election results in states with close elections in 2020.

The 'C' charge is the easiest to knock down, because if we go over the transcripts, he doesn't ask to get rid of the votes per se, but rather his intent lied in getting rid of the purported fake votes. Of course, none of them were fake, but there was no intent on getting rid of votes. The proof is that why stop at the margin of victory? He could've easily argued for even higher numbers.

No one's civil rights were conspired to be violated, in itself a joke. The United States federal govenrment is not a person, it does not have civil rights. The word 'civil' is a distinction to civilians.

In part, the fake electors strategy is mentioned in the superceding indictment. And C charge is the only one that fits. And it's laughable, and if I'm Trump, I now want Georgia to expedite it over there. Defeat it in Georgia, then have precedence to shut C down in Washington.

He's cooked on A/B though, but the whole fake elector= fraud thing is just, that's not what fraud originally is Mr. Smith.

You would be wrong on this one - since the charge is related to voters rights being violated when the Fake Electors were introduced - as voter's votes would
have been disregarded if the Fake Electors had been able to get Pence to use those Fake Elector votes instead of the real ones - real elector
votes based on real voter's votes.

This is not a superceding indictment... It's a brand new indictment with new charges in a different jurisdiction.

Fraud = "wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain"

    Totally works for me...

Except here's the thing: Who is he deceiving? He's not deceiving the government, after all the government is the one tallying the numbers. The government is de-facto claiming a deception that never happened. Trump didn't alter evidence or information in a way so as to make his claims 'more believable' or 'credible'

Where is the government misled? And since the government was never misled, no one's civilian rights were violated, or even attempted to be violated. The only one who was misled, or better said, refused to believe the facts, were Donald Trump. To use a Liberal favorite phrase: His truth.

Now I'd love to make the Garland DOJ make a convincing argument as to how a deluded man was able to convince the 7 states of his own delusion and thus misled them.

    Please, and good luck.

'Oh Mother - Mike Pence Helped Jack Smith Out A LOT'

Pence with quite the statement tonight: Today's indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States.”

'Mike Pence Helped Jack Smith Out A LOT'

'The indictment shows that Mike Pence gave Smith a significant heap of information with which to investigate Trump, including notes that he appears to have taken on the former President’s behavior as it happened.

The most eye-popping revelation from this section is one which Pence disclosed in his memoir: that on Jan. 1, when Trump “berated” Pence for opposing a lawsuit that sought to empower him to reject Biden electors, Trump told Pence “you’re too honest.”

Smith also cited “the Vice President’s contemporaneous notes” for a claim that Trump allegedly made to Pence to the effect that the DOJ was “finding major infractions.” That was on Dec. 29, long after multiple DOJ officials told Trump that the opposite was true. Smith cited other interactions between the two, including one on Dec. 25 where Pence purportedly told Trump, “You know I don’t think I have the authority to change the outcome.”

He didn't deceive a soul... everybody saw through this Keystone Kops effort from the first minute.

Remember, the fraud doesn't have to be successful to be a crime, but it got far enough to get fraudulent documents to the President of the Senate.

As to your final point, they found people wanting to participate in the fraud.... thanks to Ronna Romney McRomney... most needed zero convincing to play along, although a few smart ones bailed in Michigan (and perhaps elsewhere) once they saw what the deal was.....

Finally, the "Garland DOJ" is really not involved here... people assigned to Jack Smith will be prosecuting the case(s)... but nice try there...
