They seem unaware that Hamas terrorists hide amongst the civilian population. For the second day in a row, Israel was forced to bomb a refugee camp in Gaza because the headquarters of the Hamas terrorist group was hiding there.

Palestinians chose Hamas to govern them. In addition, at any time Palestinians living in Gaza could leave and live under the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank, roughly a hundred miles away. Palestinians trapped in Gaza now chose Hamas.

On Oct. 7, Hamas went on a murder raid, murdering over 1400 Israelis as well as others. The war between Israel and Hamas began. Young, amateurish progressives want the U.S.to declare a ceasefire between these two foreign adversaries. They can't explain how the Biden administration is supposed to do that.

NPR reports, "The progressive Jewish group If Not Now went to Capitol Hill last week to talk to lawmakers and hold a rally.

"While the group sang a call-and-response of "cease-fire now" and "not in our name" next to the Reflecting Pool, Matan Arad-Neeman, the group's spokesman, explained why they were there.

"We've only seen — what is it — 17 members of Congress so far call for a cease-fire. And I'm so grateful for their moral courage," he said. "But the rest of Congress needs to step up and end this bloodshed."

"As of today, 18 House members have signed on to a resolution calling for a cease-fire in the war between Israel and Hamas.

"In March, Gallup found that for the first time in more than two decades of tracking, Democrats sympathized with Palestinians more than Israelis. About half of Democrats said their sympathies are more with Palestinians, compared to about 4 in 10 who said their sympathies are more with the Israelis. That divide is decades in the making."

On Oct. 7, Palestinians murdered over 1,400 people and started a war that will desecrate their homeland. Over 8,800 Palestinians have been killed.

The young progressives support a group bent on murder and suicide.

 

One side indiscriminately launching rockets at innocent civilians and even took friendly fire to their own hospital. Israel sounds alarms and moves their children into shelters.

The other side gives warnings. Women and children are not allowed to leave so that someone can come to a forum and post a death count. This is straight out of the pallywood playbook.

 

During the last ceasefire, Hamas invaded their neighbor, murdered, raped women so violently they crushed their pelvises, others they raped bloody and then paraded them to the cheering Gaza crowds, thrilled that they had been viciously raped so many times that their pants were soaked in blood.

Several things to consider here.

First- most of the "information" coming from Gaza is coming from Hamas. It's less reliable than the claims of flying pigs, and will inherently be distorted to generate hostility toward Israel.
Just like the hospital that wasn't really hit, didn't really collapse, and didn't actually kill 1000 innocent people which turned out to be their own fizzled rocket setting fire to cars in a parking lot.

Second- Israel civilians were intentionally targeted in the most atrocious and repugnant act of terrorism anyone could imagine- such that extermination of the people responsible is the only response that makes sense. Hamas opened the door and set the rules of engagement. Hamas documents have been found on dead fighters instructing this, it was literally a plan from the top.
Some 250 Israeli hostages are in the hands of Hamas terrorists right now. Not soldiers- but civilians; old women, men, children. The rules of war and rules of human decency are off the table, and Hamas chose that. Sympathy for such people..... is grossly misplaced.

Third- Israel put substantial effort into telling all civilians to get out of the war zones. They held back to give them time to do so. Any that remain have put themselves there by choice, or Hamas has kept them there for their value as cannon fodder, shielding, and the ability to claim they are victims of Israeli brutality.

Fourth- The population of Gaza has about 50% under the age of 18. They are breeding the replacement terrorists right now.

Last- Israel probably knows and understands the fourth point. The question is how you separate the Palestinian people from the culture of terrorism and hate, when it is embodied in their religion that is the daily diet all their children are immersed in from birth. The concept of a free Palestinian state would help, but that needs to be done without destroying other states. The Arab nations surrounding Israel have vast size, but none seem to want to contribute any of it to a Palestine homeland. Even Jordan, which was once known as Palestine- does not want the Palestinians today, even as refugees.
Peace requires effort and adjustments on both sides. So far, the people controlling Palestine aren't open to that idea. Israel being willing to pursue a solution isn't enough; Palestine must be willing as well- and that can't be terrorism, nor the destruction of the nation of Israel- which is its objective, both past and present.

During the Clinton presidency, there was a series of meetings between Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Israeli leader Ehud Olmert, overseen by Clinton at Camp David. Israel made a lot of concessions and agreed to the creation of a Palestinian state. Arafat turned everything down; Palestine literally rejected statehood three times. Around half the population of Gaza wasn't even born when Palestine had their last election. There's this rationale that as long as you have a political motive, that it doesn't matter how many innocent people are harmed by your actions, and that demonstrating a lack of care or forethought for the innocent who are harmed shows that you are leading through strength in achieving your political goals.

In the just world we call this rationale terrorism.
