This is discouraging, but it does explain the 'misunderstanding' many on the right have. When you watch the news, you expect to learn and receive actual facts about current events or legislations. But this isn't the case with FOX News. This clearly isn't the first time they have reported incorrect information (Obama spending $200 million a day in India), and unfortunately it seems to be evolving into a pattern.

It works. Try clicking on it.

EDIT: Real cute Jim. Typical Republican rebuttal I suppose.

From what I understand the EPA is not hiring 230,000 people (at this time). However, in order to regulate everybody with the new regulations they would need that many new people.

Comical. That's exactly what FOX News has reported. However, as the article reports, that's not true. The EPA avoided such scenario. And why would an agency that has 17,000 people suddenly grow to 247,000 people?

EPA avoided hiring the 230,000 people. They are still adding more and more regulations and need more people in order to keep people/businesses from breaking them.

Wait... I heard liberals just the other day on this site arguing that hiring 230,000 workers on the Federal payroll would be a good thing.

Are you guys changing your BIG GOVERNMENT minds?

It's in the OP. Click that one, not the 'link' to the Chimpanzee YouTube video you edited the original to.

Actually, the point here is FOX News reported grossly inaccurate news.

Actually I just want people to realize FOX News is a propaganda machine that reports false facts to meet their agenda. Case in point, them reporting the EPA hired 230,000 new agents when they haven't.

You are just a propaganda machine.

This is what the EPA said in a brief

Sorry Rapunzel, I keep that link in my back pocket when you conservatives won't read a post from Media Matters.

As far as the chimp YouTube video, you can thank Jim for that one. He edited my link in his quote.

Ah, so it was a link to media matters. It's no wonder my browser shifted it to a monkey raping a frog.
You know, I did a search for what the OP is talking about and links to the FOX story didn't even show up on the first page. You would think that the way the OP is portraying this that the story originated from them. Apparently, it didn't.

That may be good enough for you but not for me.

If you can't produce a link then there is nothing more to say on this topic.

    From the brief...

When EPA assumed a mere 40-fold increase in applications – one-tenth of the actual increase – and no increase in employees to process them, the processing time for Title V permits would jump from 6-10 months to ten years. Hiring the 230,000 full-time employees necessary to produce the 1.4 billion work hours required to address the actual increase in permitting functions would result in an increase in Title V administration costs of $21 billion per year. Id. at 31,535-40, 31,577.

Yes, that's from the brief. That would occur in absence of the "tailoring rule."

There's a link, proving FOX News was incorrect. What do you do when you find out the source that feeds you your news and opinions is lying? Does it feel like when you were told the Easter Bunny is made-up?

OK...so they are going to exempt some for now, but eventually they will all be included. So 230,000 more employee's now or later.

Emissions from small farms, restaurants, and all but the very largest commercial facilities will not be covered by these programs at this time.

Boil it down: The EPA will not regulate emissions from small farms AT THIS TIME.

    Soon enough, though.

Just another job killer..what else is new under this admin.??? Just another cost that will make competing impossible.
