Thanks for the tip. I just checked out the Kindle version from my library online and had it delivered to my Android phone. :)

Meh - Clooney is too much love with himself to really love anyone else.
I like your Egypt photo - I bet they don't even hold hands with women, do they?

Catalina generally women and men don't hold hands unless they're married or related. Much more common to see men holding hands in Arabic influenced countries.

It's certainly extremely common for young ladies to hold hands with each other walking down the street in mainland Europe. It's always been much, much less common in the UK (which is why I noticed it when I first travelled across the channel), but seems to be getting a little more common now.

Different cultures view different types of physical contact slightly differently - it's no big deal. Many mainland Europeans do that whole 'kiss, kiss' meeting thing, and in various different ways, with different numbers of kisses - again, that's something that's been creeping in more commonly in the UK in recent years (there's always been a bit of it, but it's got more common, as far as I can see). It's not something I like, personally (the more people (ther than my other half, obviously!) their physicalness separate from mine, the happier I am!), but I put up with it to avoid causing offense. I guess I'd do the same if I spent a long time in a 'hand-holding' country - it's something that would seem nothing if that's just what people do.

We're going to do the West Highland Way in the spring. Glencoe is my favourite place, if you happen to hit good weather it's superb. :omg:

My husband has to do a charity fundraiser walk in Jura next year.

He's fit, but could improve. I'm already on a fitness kick and doing exercise classes and healthy eating and such so we've agreed to work together and focus on fitness all winter, to be ready to enjoy next summer. I always take the dogs, now dog singular, but you have to watch them with the sheep.

It's also one of my favorite places. Depends on how you define 'good weather', though - I find it's at its best with a bit of damp mist about (luckily, I guess it's probably like that most of the time!). That might just be me, I suppose!

This photo is obviously not me, but we just came from a fantastic weekend near the town of Ixopo in the South of KwaZulu-Natal.

This is a panoramic shot taken by The Loved One of Qunu Valley, including my Hybrid car, just to show I am REALLY a lefty.

And this is me doing my favourite thing in the world - reading.

We stayed at an old Trappist Monastery. The Catholic church sold the working Monk's farm to the neighboring farmer in 1996, that converted it into a guest lodge. Was build in 1850, and has got the most wonderful gardens.

And this is a photo of me, whilst we were exploring the monastery's now abandoned brick works.
