    Heck, there's no way you could make a show like All in the Family, now. That show was very important in helping people understand those who are "different."

    'Cept that my dad didn't know that Carroll O'Connor was a staunch democrat trying to highlight the ridiculousness of racism and homophobia. He considered Archie a hero.

    We can agree on the basic topic, but we separate on calling The Ten Commandments a great movie...

    Watchable (once a year), but that's about it...

    Watchable for the pure nostalgia of it. I love it, but recognize it's not great theater. Where's your messiah now, Moses? Gotta love Edward G Robinson!!!

    Serious question, is the idea to erase the history, mistakes, so that the reminder is gone?

    That seems like a backward approach since I'm reminded of our bad history so often by those that appear want to make it disappear.

    Or is it the nuance of it being viewed as glorifying our bad history via statues and such, that's at least reasonable but in many cases those objections are based on only one aspect of their lives, jn particular the Confederacy, many were great and influential people in many other aspects. They just happen to have been alive during great turmoil.

    I have never been a fan of media bans. It angers me when Team R does it and it angers me when Team D does it. I'm appalled that there's an entire population who will never know Mark Twain, because Republicans think his writing is too mature for HS students.

    I hate censorship. I hated growing up listening to self righteous *******s trying to ban some heavy metal songs, I haye it when libraries remove books from their shelves, I hate it when objectionable speakers are canceled because someone might be offended, and I hate it in this instance. Nobody should be silenced. I don't care if you are ISIS, republicans, democrats, nazis, or BLM. Everyone should be able to freely speak their mind without worrying about getting censored.

    Agreed. That Tipper Gore **** really pissed me off. I had forgotten about the music nonsense. It made me hate the Clinton administration even more than I already had.

    Beautiful cinematography; horrible acting; cheesy dialogue = one of my favorites.

    How is a local board deciding curriculum equal to banning a book? And where is the information confirming Republicans were the no votes on inclusion of the titles? You didn’t make that up did you?
