‘Impeach Trump’ rally in downtown Portland draws small crowd

    For almost a week, an impeach Donald Trump rally has been planned and hyped in Portland. The weather was perfect. US Representative Earl Blumenauer was going to give the keynote speech. No other events were happening in Portland at the time. The permit the rally organizers pulled stated the expected number of people at the rally would be no less than 200,000. Police were allocated to control a crowd of over 100,000. Streets were blocked off to the chagrin of business owners, and........

    The Oregonian (a liberal organization that used to be a newspaper) stated the number of protesters were about 200. No, that was wishful thinking. The 200 number had to include the police, city workers and about 50 reporters. I couldn't find a single photograph of the event that showed more than 12 protesters in a shot.

    My daughter attended the rally because in her words, "Yelling in the streets is fun." She said there may have been 10 people at the rally.

    Recently, I have heard Democratic Party members of Congress say they are just waiting for the numbers to change, then the American people will accept impeachment. They are going to have a long wait if ultra-blue Portland can only manage a dozen protesters. I think it is time for Democrats to move on.

    Nobody will equate attendance at a rally with American support of impeachment HEARINGS.... Only polls will do that. And the number is growing every month.

    If you look at the top image in that NBC URL, you can see buttons saying **** Trump.... America's gotten SO classy under this clown..

    The closest Impeach Trump rally to me yesterday was more than 25 miles away so I passed... Doesn't mean I don't fully support impeachment hearings TODAY. Frankly, if America watched Don McGahn testify, that number would likely skyrocket....

    I like that you encapsulated the Trump administration in your avatar.... was that intentional??

    We can tell how much interest the public has for this by how the hate Trump conspiracy networks are bleeding viewers, that guy Maddow took a big hit.

    As for the buttons that say **** Trump, it's unbelievable that you would blame Trump for the the low class actions of his haters. Do you guys ever take accountability for the things you do?

    When over 60% of the people say that they don't want impeachment, that should be a clue to Democrats that they should forget about it. The trouble is that they haven't done anything constructive since Trump was elected, so they have nothing to run on, so they try to rally around impeachment, but it's a loser, like them.

    Not surprising in the least.

    Everyone (including the overwhelming majority of Democrats) know that Impeachment (with ZERO Chance of GOP Senate Conviction) is a Fool's Errand.

    It seems like the crowd was so small that it wasn't even worthwhile for Trump's Dirty Tricks Squad to hire some False Flag thugs to cause problems.

    Oregon is awash in 2.3 million pounds of surplus marijuana, price is low, it’s frantically being turned into concentrates and edibles to extend shelf life. Good luck getting the trump haters out of their bean bag chairs and to an impeachment rally. Just too stoned man.

    Portland is where an antifa member tried to shoot up a school and was shot by police.

    A few days later a bomb was placed at the police station. (who could it be?)

    Many police have quit the department.

    Indeed, and which would pretty much be the bog standard core of the Dem Party's voters . . . and nobody else. Where are all the political independents shrieking for Trump's head on a pike? Nope; all we've got are the blind Dem Party follower types and the Marxist minded college professors and the outright lunatic fringe of the freshman class of the House of Representative Dems -- oh and some few turncoat type RINOs. Oops!

    I just found a video of the rally. There are about a dozen people on the stage but a sizable crowd attending. I'm counting about 100.

    You really think 100% of the people who want to impeach Trump will show up to a rally? According to polls 48% want Congress to investigate whether they should impeach Trump with 49% opposing. Only 33% actually move directly to impeachment with 61% opposing.
