Why wouldn't I? I am Portuguese. My Grand Parent were treated poorly by White Americans when they arrived in 1900. You can't see it can you? I took my reparations and it didn't change the way I feel about the givers one single bit. It made them feel better about their white guilt, so in fact I did them a favor. They bought me drinks for themselves, not me. That is my point. If they want to give reparations I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't cost tax dollars which I pay a lot into.

Reparations have already been paid, through the blood of Union soldiers and then citizenship for former slaves...

I never said that either. I never said all educations are created equal. You original point was people couldn't get ahead, which is wrong. You acted like they couldn't get an education which was wrong. Now you're trying to say I'm equating what the rich have available to them to what the poor have. I'm not doing that. I'm simply saying anybody can get ahead and have a successful life if they work hard at it.

Some people are smarter and work harder than others. These people will always have more. You can't change that.

So now your mocking your heritage. This is unbelievable.

And how do you know this? Did you witness their arrival?

    .

Okay, so by taking it and not letting it change you, you took advantage of people's possibly good intentions. How admirable on your part.

You honestly don't know that because you cannot know their inner feelings. Only what your mind tells you.

Sorry Professor, your "story" just doesn't add up. It's nothing more then suppositions on your part.

Not me you are mocking immigrants who came here legally, how very white of you.

No they were still alive when I was little and I talked to them.

If they want to buy me drinks to make themselves feel better, who am I to deny them that pleasure?

It's the only reason they would want to make reparations for things they had no part in.

YOU are free to believe what ever crapola you want.

How racist of you; I never once mocked the immigrants; nice try at deflection though.

And what did they tell you??

How do you know it's the sole reason?

And likewise my friend YOU are free to spew forth what ever crapola you wish; only don't expect most people to believe what you say when it comes to this.

You lot made it the entire point that black people are poor because the parents don't support their own children.
Besides that the claim is not supported on some source and is more a wild racist accusation,... bit weird to back peddle on this.

pff. I dunno how you pin this on poor black people. You familiar with a "spoiled little brat"? Lack of discipline is right there. I wouldn't know how a poor parent ends up with that, when the parent is unable to afford what such a kid demands.

The bottom line is, that black people have always been poor. That's what the Jim Crow caused. That was it's intent. To stop black people to climb the social economic ladder. And it's a fact that if you want things in the US, than you need to pay for it. No freeloading. And to invent in your personal life and the lives of your children therefor aint free. That makes it an uphill battle for poor people. And you're in no position to claim that in capitalistic US of A when things are for free it is just as equal. That's on par with the ill joke of separate but equal really is equal.

You tell that to freaking Jaden Smith. Kid can't act for ****, but still made 4 movies.

The idea that poor black people are to lazy to do that, hence their children remain poor... is based on what? Your racist way of thinking?

    Hi Hoppy!

I have no idea where you're getting this idea about Blacks as I never said it. Methinks you are the only one doing so.

    See you next Spring.

Wasn't the point that oppression ended with slavery? Oppression ended with the Jim Crow laws got axed. And that was in the 1960's.

Actually studies have found the lack of a father figure in the home to be a major factor in this. This also leads to poverty as well with way too often single mothers supporting the home.

Oh I never said that. I'm saying the playing field is not equal because rich people are able to afford better education for their own children. And white people are more rich on average, because they violently oppressed black people.

The claim was that basically black people are too lazy to help out their own children. This is pushing a whole new goalpost.

It comes from the idea that this argument is being used to explain why black people are predominantly poor. And you hopped on that train.

Ah, so you're using an argument other people are/have used and pining it on me when I was saying nothing of the kind. Yep - got it. I mean sure - you're lying - but at least now I know what's going on with your posts.

Hey, how about you try something novel: Post the thread where I specifically said Blacks are predominately poor because of - well, anything I said in this thread. I HAVE said that poor parenting makes for bad kids and that parents are far more important than teachers when it comes to education. That's about it. Race is irrelevant in this regard, bad parents of any color will tend to bring bad kids to school. If anything, YOU are the one who keeps harping about race here.

I'm not a "lot". You want to argue with a lot, go find a parking space and scream all you like at it.

Take issues with MY post, or do the forum a favor and don't respond at all.

The bottom line is, Chinese people were once always poor. And they didn't just experience 'slavery', they were starved and tortured during the 20thC. That's WHY they work so hard today, to avoid ever experiencing that stuff again.

It's not one jot harder to raise a kid who does well at school and stays out of trouble if you're poor. PLENTY of rich folk raise really shiity kids, which shows how little money has to do with it. All it takes your self-sacrifice and continuous focus.

PS: The only ones "keeping black folk down" today are the white Progressives who tell you you're helpless without them.

You seriously think Jaden Smith is a good example of a success story? I hope you're joking. Those Smith kids are doomed.

I did not say that black people are too lazy to support their kids' education. I'm married to a black man who is utterly tireless when it comes to making sure our three kids are educated to a high standard (in PUBLIC school).
