Reparations for whom? Affirmative action for whom? Why should a descendent of a black slaveholder, for example, benefit from affirmative action and a white working-class descendent of a Union soldier who died in the Civil War, who was also working-class, be foiled by it? How is that moral?

As to this question, affirmative action is a form of reparations, no? I disagree with both, which is to say, I disagree with the rubric.

 

Is it because you hate to see Blacks receive any kind of "special favors"? Do you believe Blacks should always come behind Whites economically and politically?

 

It is a law predicated on RACE, which is exactly what we've all been fighting against since the 60's.

 

How do they earn more money than whites - if whites hold all the power, and practice racial discrimination? How on earth are they able to get ahead so easily and so thoroughly?

 

It's because any law predicated on race is morally repugnant. That is NOT equality, justice, or any kind of decency whatsoever.

An inane effort on your part. Equal pay legislation is an effort to eliminate discrimination which, by definition, impairs both efficiency and equity. Given your love of supply side economics, even you should know that. Its acknowledged by the Chicago School after all.

 

Within orthodox decomposition analysis, its summed up in its empirical approach as 'white nepotism'. Of course you could go all Marxist and argue that, as discrimination is used more generally against labour power, all workers lose out. Its just blacks lose out more.
