21 million Americans say Biden is ‘illegitimate’ and Trump should be restored by violence

Poll from University of Chicago Project on Security and Threats:

- 47 million American adults – nearly 1 in 5 – agree with the statement that “the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump and Joe Biden is an illegitimate president.”

- 21 million also agree that “use of force is justified to restore Donald J. Trump to the presidency.”

- Among those 21 million MAGA, 54% agree that “A secret group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles is ruling the US government,” which is the key belief in the QAnon movement.

If these numbers don't scare you, then you are probably a MAGA intoxicated with all these conspiracy theories.

Can we expect to build a country with so many people willing to use violence to reinstall an autocratic demagogue?

I don't think there has ever been a greater threat to democracy than Trumpism and the cult of personality that comes with it.

Someone told me that I'm fear mongering because I mentioned that Trump has us on the brink of civil war. It is much closer than they realize. I don't know what kind of hypnosis he's using on them but the fact that REAL AMERICANS are actually okay with this is beyond outrageous.

 

The **** that's gonna drive us to civil war is false racist narratives pushed by the media that are villifying certain specific groups while praising others.

And that hasn't stopped. So sounds to me like the media wants to see how far they can push it

I don't watch television (at all). I rent movies or go to Netflix but I never watch any "news channels" or programs so my opinion is just that. My gauge of what is happening between us on a direct level.

I'm also not racist, sexist or homophobic so don't bother with that kind of noise.

As far as I know, there are no news reporters or investigators on this site or any other public forum (with the exception of one where I know a journalist regularly posts).

The media isn't pushing anything and a person can't be pushed if they are able to think critically and independently. The people, We, the People, are the ones fighting amongst ourselves and it's getting hotter by the minute.

 

Those eagerly suckling their partisan media nipple will swallow these numbers as fact. The levels of gullibility would have to be profound to believe this crap.

If the narrative "all white people are racist" hasn't bled down to you specifically is inconsequential. That narrative is there and is being pushed and will lead to further strife. You can elect to bury your head in the sand over it...I don't care.
