Standard far-left responses. Disagreement with the far left is equal to you have personal deficiencies.

You have to resort to this kind of nonsense because you don't have an argument.

What do you mean it's not needed. It's the big stick philosophy and it works it always has because it's based on common sense.

    The Claim
Sitting down to breakfast in Brussels just before the NATO plenary session Wednesday, Trump accused NATO allies of being freeloaders:

"Many countries owe us a tremendous amount of money from many years back, where they're delinquent as far as I'm concerned, because the United States has had to pay for them. So if you go back 10 or 20 years, you'll just add it all up, it's massive amounts of money is owed."

    False
The U.S. has not been stiffed for unpaid bills by NATO allies.

"There is no ledger that maintains accounts of what countries pay and owe," says former Obama administration National Security Council staffer Aaron O'Connell. "NATO is not like a club with annual membership fees."

NATO members did make a commitment four years ago to spend at least 2 percent of their GDP on defense by 2024. Just nine of the military alliance's 29 members are expected to reach or surpass that target this year.

First thing... Lie like a dog.

    Exaggeration
NATO reported on July 10 that spending by European members increased from last fiscal year to the current fiscal year by about $35 billion.

    The increased spending predates Trump.

"I think once the trend started changing in 2014, that created momentum even before he became president," says Martin. "Now maybe there's a bit more urgency now because he's blunter than his predecessors in criticizing his European partners."

Despite Trump's complaints about American outlays for NATO, the U.S. is actually spending more in Europe than when he took office.

"Actions speak louder than words," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters as the NATO summit got underway. "Since Trump became president, U.S. funding for military presence in Europe — the European Deterrence Initiative — has been increased by 40 percent."

Reality used to be a serious impediment for fanatics.

    No longer.

After years of a concerted Republican congressional fatwa failed to uncover anything indictable, followed by an extremely hostile and vindictive Trump regime aided and abetted for two full years by a GOP-controlled Senate and a GOP House with a surfeit of prosecutorial zeal could not contrive anything either, one is left with braying crackpots, contemptuous of American jurisprudence, screeching, "Lock her up! Lock her up!"

Meanwhile, Fake Don, consistently and relentlessly enjoying the disapproval of most Americans, enjoys immunity until January, 2021.

Well, I have no way of knowing who you are or what you actually believed 3 years ago, but I do know that you're spreading disinformation now.

The Clintons are indeed criminals and Trump is a refreshingly honest and effective leader.

He's your POTUS until 2025. Get used to it.

You have the same rabid disdain for Americans who support Trump, so what difference does it make whether the OP is Russian or Martian? Hate is hate.

To quote Reagan, you didn't lose, you were not allowed to win. This trade war could be our economic Vietnam and proof that victory is possible if you stay the course.

He is in no position to comment on America. But I'm sure you are incapable of understanding that. As long as he is singing praises for the murderous thug you all love, you don't care.

Because we spend money defending them. WTF, how could you be ok with them not paying what they should and asking America to pay for thier defense. Germany charges us rent for bases that we built to protect them, in what universe is that OK? I am a progressive, Tulsi supporter and a Nam vet. You don't have to tell me we piss money away, We voted to increase the defense budget by billions more than what the defense dept asked for!

20 years ago they told the armed services to propose savings they proposed saving billions but the southern republican congressman would not let them close bases in thier districts. LOok at a map of defense installations
you would think that the southern US was in immediate threat from china and Russia. I think Mass has about 2000 military people stationed, Maine has a small airforce base, Newport RI has the naval war college. CT is the only state in New england with a significant military base. NY has West point which is small for an economic impact, Fort Drum and fort Dix in New jersey are just army reserve sites now. Same with PA and Ohio. You have 1/3rd of the nations population with about 5% of the defense budget. the military has more economic impact in VA alone than it does in the entire northeast of the US.
