Americans are arming themselves to the teeth? LOL Evidently you don't know Americans very well. Some have collections because they like to collect, some have one to protect themselves because they have good reason too or have been attacked before, others just have one because it is our collective right.

The fear comes from people like you that want to control everyone else due to their own fear.

Lot's of people giggle at what they imagine.

None of those hyperbole's or fears here merely accurate statements.

And that right there is the simplistic ignorance that got us where we are.

Many firearms including most "assault weapons" are modular by design with many various components.
When lawmakers arbitrarily choose to ban cosmetic features because they look scary the public is left with a million possible permutations of possible legality.
Just one example I overheard this week. Pistol grip. Most firearms have an area called the pistol grip. Not all but most. Nothing new they go back to the advent of the musket.
Certain pistol grips are now banned in ct. The problem lies in where's the dividing line between a normal pistol grip and a scary evil pistol grip.
It's been awhile since I perused the new law and cannot remember the exact wording but it was not a clear definitive difference.
So now we have citizens marching into gunshops with photos of guns asking questions of legality. Of course they get no specific answers. Obviously your average ar15 grip is banned. But if you a grip slightly more conspicuous than an average rifle who's the arbiter?

These laws were written in just weeks. There was no education involved, just a gathering of wishes. They did try to be specific but by being so specific that adds pages of descriptions to the law. All the extra descriptions only adds extra questions when they missed a particular. Understand?

Well, the people like you should be able to tell us what "the thing that goes up" is since it came from one of your anti-gun kind.

Because guns unlike cars do not have ignition switches and locks making them difficult to use. It is an open invitation to the criminal element. Why do dumbass liberals object to welfare people taking drug test?

No doubt the Connecticut thugs will start the 3:00 A.M. raids arresting these scofflaws.

Does being on the database but having no permit not constitute a de facto warrant?

Democrat leaders in CT better arrest all thiose gun owners before they can vote against Obama stooges.

Talk about twisted reality. The lib fantasy of the OK Corral when they really have to worry about criminals instead of law abiding citizens.

Coming from the party of gangstas and gunrunners I find your concern for random acts from citizens with no priors laughable. You may want to sweep your doorstep before setting foot on mine.

This would be great! We need tougher laws on gun ownership.

    - - - Updated - - -

Kids of law abiding citizens take guns and do not obey the law, they shoot their parents, too.

Exactly how often does that happen? Does it happen more often than children die from accidental poisoning after drinking some household cleaners bought by law-abiding citizens? Maybe we should require everyone to register and get a permit for all of their cleaning chemicals too.

Tell me, what is there to "understand" about firearms? They go bang and put holes in things. That's about it. Or is there some arcane mystique or secret and hidden function which I overlooked?

They are infringements when implemented to be functional bans. DC, Chicago, LA, NYC, and other places implemented permit processes in such a way as to be so burdensome they worked as a ban. The DC laws were the motivation for Heller. When DC lost Heller in the Supreme Court, DC "tweaked" their process to appear to obey Heller but still be a de facto ban. Heller took it to court again and won again. Chicago did the same, after Heller they pretended to obey the law but did not.

NYC required a personal inteview & test with the applicant, the interview was scheduled for a downtown NYC office in the middle of the work day - requiring the applicant to take a day off work. If you were late, your application was denied. The interview questions were designed to be tricky and have a high failure rate. I have forgotten the office number where they held the interviews, but it was something like 211B. When you got to the second floor, there was 211, then 212, no 211B - because 211B was in the basement. It was just one BS thing after another.

I think the "freedom" to not get hit by a random car is important. Cars are a far bigger threat than guns. Let me know when you give up owning and using all motor vehicles.

Exactly what degree of angle and measurement of protrusion at what prescribed degree of angle constitutes a pistol grip?
You sure you really want to play this game? Could take awhile.

Sorry but ease of use or otherwise is hardly relevant.
What is your objection to having your gun registered? How would it compromise you and in what way? Or is filling in a form beyond the capabilities of conservatives?

Nice diversion attempt. The quote to which I responded was something along the lines of legislators not understanding guns. I repeat, aside from their design function, (that is to put holes in things), what else do I need to know?
