Allowing ANYONE from that area, the breeding ground of the virus at the time it was spreading like wildfire in that country, the ability to travel to the US is exactly what helped spread the virus in the US. Thats not really debatable. You know that, so Im not sure why you're defending it.

Allowing these people to bring it to the US, especially in the beginnings of the pandemic makes its impact grow exponentially. This is simple math.

Trump made the impact of the virus worse by allowing people from the most infected area of the world direct access to the country. There is no defense of that. Claiming he was "banning" them was not only an outright lie, it actually made the situation in the US worse. We know math, and we know that the math shows it made it worse. There were direct flights in and out of Shanghai and Beijing from and to the US just two weeks ago. No passengers were quarantined, just trusted to self isolate in their own homes
