Wow, you really do not have a clue, do you?

Know who was the leading trading partner of Germany was in 1938? Yep, France. #2 was the UK.

And the #1 trading partner of Japan in 1941? Yep, the United States. Which is what pissed them off so badly when we declared an embargo on them.

And military is so much more than GDP. The US military uses equipment that it has purchased, maintained and upgraded over more than 40 years. You think that having a slightly larger GDP is going to offset that in a year or two?

Yea, don't even bother to reply. I only bother with people I can take seriously, and who discuss things that are actually factual. Not simply repeating some nonsensical talking points that sound like they could have come from Alex Jones.

And no, a large economy is not needed for a large military. You do not seem to understand that they have little to do with each other. The USSR never had a large external economy, but look at it's military.

And how can you possibly explain North Korea with that explanation?

As I said, do not even bother to respond. You are so far off the course you can not even see the fairway.

Source for your claim that the California National Guard has no rifles?

Again, if I can show that the Barbary War increased the national debt at the time, will you concede your point about the bullshit commerce clause argument you tried to make?

IE will you hold wars from the Founders’ day to the same standard you just showed for modern wars?

with a sunk cost? We have a navy clause. Hostile activity to our merchant shipping had to be addressed.

We have a war clause too. It gives Congress the blanket authority to make war.

How do you determine the difference between "defense" and "offense"?

We were attacked by Afghanistan based terrorists on 9/11. How does the Afghan War not fall under common defense by that standard?

You said they were ordered to turn in their rifles. Are you now backing down from that claim?

Lots of National Guard units do disaster relief missions. That doesn’t mean they’ve been “disarmed by totalitarian liberals”.

Fire season is coming and we have no massive air tanker fleet to quench forest fires in one overflight.

Upgrading our common defense posture is more rational.

Our foreign invasion was a waste of money.

They were ordered to turn in their rifles and were issued shovels to be trained as gardners.

The Romans built bridges, roads, and forts, without heavy modern equipment.

A-10 Warthog proposed, again, as an air tanker

Using the designs of Edward Herlik from the 1990s, the organization claims “the [A-10 air tanker] could fly very low, fly night missions, see through smoke, drop retardant with pinpoint accuracy, and even reload its 2,000-gallon retardant tank in mid-air”.

It’s more rational to do nothing against enemies that have attacked you?

Why are you insisting on lying?

They were being trained to fight wildfires, aka a form of natural disaster.

When National Guard in Nebraska and Kansas were issued sand bags and shovels in recent weeks rather than carrying rifles, were they training to be sand castle builders and disarmed by totalitarian conservatives?

Is this you admitting your claim that California National Guard we’re being disarmed by “totalitarian leftists” and trained as “gardeners” is bullshit?

Yet you have to admit that the War in Afghanistan is covered under the war powers clause, common defense, and the precedent of the Barbary Wars.
