$6 or $7 per gallon is a small price to pay to defend democracy....

I am willing to defend democracy in New Jersey, not in Ukraine.

Please substantiate any of...............It seems Biden's goal is to try and coerce American drivers to buy electric cars and this is an unmitigated disaster waiting to happen I don't think in Christ seeing the pies to $15 a gallon will make people get rid of their functionable usable cars to buy some substandard piece of garbage.

They might buy some used piece of crap to tool around until the gas prices fall and then they'll just drive it to the dump and go back to the superior technology.

So every American has a responsibility to pay for every other country's democracy?

Are you aware that there's a very long list of hopefuls in the world? Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan etc... etc...

Just how broke should Americans go to buy the world a Coke and smile?

what do you mean these people aren't shy about saying it. I've heard Biden himself say multiple times that he wants to transition to Green energy.

If you're just an absolute denial of reality you don't need me to substantiate it you need a professional.

Let's see how people vote after the rah rah rah bullshit is over. When they are paying $700-$1000 dollars more a month for expenses than when Trump was in office.

This guy has totally fooked us.

Perhaps you are new to the English language? Because promoting renewable energy is not...........Biden's goal is to try and coerce American drivers to buy electric cars.

Also, what makes you think gasoline is going to $15?

I am saying it has nothing to do with anything. Please at least make an effort to understand that you read,

The point, which evades you, has nothing to do with your poll, its about pseudo-cons crying and whining about everything under the sun. If your poll contradicts anything, it is your argument, since 82% of Dems supported banning Russian oil too.

Even those Republicans who say they oppose Russian oil cry and whine about gas prices and everything else. If you opened your eyes you'd see pseudo-cons bawling their eyes out about gas price.

I get it. You are a party apologist, and feel compelled to defend your party.

There is freedom in being independent.

    Have a nice day.

Your premise is flawed. We have NEVER been energy independent. Not in the sense that we didn't import oil. We did start exporting more than we imported in 2020. But the gap is likely even more favorable in 2021 (though the numbers are not in). STILL that doesn't mean that we didn't import oil.

If you want to try again, go for it... But please read my sig and try a more informed response.

Just look how great it turned out when we flooded Afghanistan with money and weapons so they could fight for their democracy.

What a bargain that was for the American taxpayers.

I swear, some people never learn.

Team Joe was incompetently pulling us out of one money pit, and, before we could even catch our breath, they're tossing our tax dollars into another one.

perhaps you're arrogant enough to think everyone's gullible

Government coercion is the only way to promote green energy because it's terrible in all ways including for the environment.

Nobody will pay more for something that sucks so you have to prop up dying or broken industries with government.
What makes you think I think that? I didn't say that.

In 2018 the annual average price of gasoline was $2.74 a gallon. They're speculating by May the average cost will be for $4.25 a gallon that is an increase of 55% do you really think consumption has increased since 2018 by 55%?

The rate of inflation has gone up because more people can afford goods. But this isn't about the rate of inflation. This is about defending democracy. I wouldn't expect loyal Trump followers to care much about democracy, since they already endorsed Trump for dictator. But that's what this thread is about. There are other threads about the rate of inflation, or you can open one, if you want. If you do this, I suggest you use numbers and references to make whatever point you want to make. Otherwise the thread will likely not receive many responses. At least not from me.

Dude it was extraordinarily easy to avoid high gas prices. Don't turn off the spigot in the first place. And those higher energy costs are going to ripple through the entire economy producing higher food prices higher production costs. And a lot of people aren't going to be able to afford all that.

You're part of the 31% of Americans that fell that way. 69% of Americans support democracy here AND Ukraine.

We are only as great as our people. And the last 10 years has shown us to be lacking toward one another - which extends to how we treat those from other countries. Greatness, in my view, has been lacking.

It's all about lust for power, and based on their policies they are not overly fond of people in general.

I find that very sad. If we truly believe in the importance of democracy, we should be doing whatever we can to fight against tyranny that threatens democracy.

I don't even think it's that I'm trying to make the United States depending on a fake power source it seems to be more along the lines of self-destructive.

    Maybe it's all about masochism.

Okay, well, I don't see the point of discussing things further with you since you've completely turned the truth on its head. I'm sure it won't hurt your feelings to know I'm adding you to my ignore list. Good luck, and good-bye.

that's because you can't discuss with people who disagree with you. You never have been able to.

Maybe you can mature a little bit and then you can but until then maybe you should find something else to do with your time
It doesn't hurt my feelings to know that you need an echo chamber that doesn't even make sense.

Whenever you're tired of running away and hiding in your safe space I'll be here.

There you have it, folks. A right winger who admits that we should have appeased Putin to keep the oil running even at the expense of democracy. To all those in this thread who have denied it, don't. You know you agree with this poster....
