$6 or $7 per gallon is a small price to pay to defend democracy....

Well, if it is to sacrifice democracy or a fancy word for tyranny then it would be a good motivation to keep it up.

Democracy is the tyranny of the majority it is one of the most despicable systems created by men and it has led to hundreds of millions in death.

Why not promote doing something to protect Nazism?

Democracy doesn't seem to have worked very well recently. The working class has gotten it in the neck both here and in Europe.

Give me some solid reason to go to war, not some idealistic fluff.

How'd that work out in Afghanistan?

How's Libya's democracy looking these days?

I see. So you abhor democracy and want to protect Nazism. I'm glad you admit it, but I think that is despicable.

Odd that those supporting the party of big government call others putins puppets. Throwing people in prison for refusing to consume a political pharma product is as putinesque as it gets. In addition to criticizing ones own reflection on big government, those the party claims to care about are hurt the most by these high gas prices. Is there any effort to help those people? Is the gas tax going to be suspended to help those the party claims to care about?

Of course not. We can expect more political platitudes like this one.

I am not in support of the US 'going to war'. I am in full support of the sanctions imposed, even when they are causing us inconvenience or minor pain.

Not the topic of the conversation that you jumped into.

We were discussing whom is the bleeding heart party. While gasoline consumption was the vehicle for driving that conversation, that does not mean that any tangent related to gas consumption is on topic.

At any rate, if you dont want to address the topic that you jumped into, I am not interested in an irrelevant tangent. Nothing else to discuss.

I'm sure it will come as a great comfort to the humans being bought and sold in Libya's slave markets to know that democracy has been blossoming ever since Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama toppled their government, and sent their country spiraling into chaos and dysfunction.

But it was my statement to which you objected and what we are debating. Verbatim, my statement was ...

"Republicans are the personal responsibility "suck it up party", and Democrats are the ones who demagogue any spending cut or legislative action that will hurt anyone financially. It is hard to argue otherwise with a straight face. There is a reason for the terms bleeding heart liberal and heartless Conservative.

With that being said, will you find some select Republicans that will demagogue this particular issue just because they think it hurts the opposition? Yes you will find some, but it is nowhere near the majority of Republicans. This demagoguery is most certainly NOT the talking points coming from the RNC, because the overwhelming majority of Republicans support not using Russian oil."

That poll that I later provided 100% supports my position, and 100% contradicts yours.

It looks like you are now trying to change it into you arguing that some Conservatives are complaining about gas prices, which my statement (to which you vociferously objected) already acknowledged and correctly pointed out that they are not anywhere near the majority.

If you keep moving the goalpost, perhaps you can stumble into a correct statement? On the other hand, I say my correct statements up front and stick with them. Nothing I have said has been successfully refuted, because as evidenced by that poll, my statement was 100% correct.

Right, because anything that shows your information is false, doesn't belong in one of your threads. lol
Inflation has gone up because more people can afford goods?
How disconnected would you have to be to even make such a statement?
About as disconnected thinking gas prices are tied to Democracy. lol

First you claimed in other threads that higher consumer prices were merely a transitory problem, the result, mainly, of shipping delays and temporary shortages of supplies and workers.
Now that this has been debunked, its because more people can afford stuff?
    Laughable

7% or higher inflation is a phenomenon the U.S. hasn’t seen since the early 1980s.
For consumers, higher prices on essential goods like food and gasoline may become unaffordable for people whose paychecks aren’t rising nearly as much.
Limited production of of goods and supply chain problems are the cause of inflation.

But you can count on one thing. Rising inflation and gas prices are fueling the bloodbath Democrats face in midterms since there are very few out there who think Democracy is tied to gas prices. Democrats won't have any power left in our government when the voters are done this November. Thats good news.

Perhaps it might help you to stop using broad brush strokes and looking through a one way mirror.

You complain about people "siding with criminals over the capitol police" but where were you when there were BLM/Antifa riots in 2018-19? Did you condemn those rioters? Did you call for their arrests and a congressional commission to investigate those riots? More than 2000 police were injured in just the first few weeks of the George Floyd protests. Over 574 riots. Kamala Harris supported a group that straight out said that they were raising money to bail out those arrested. She never once retracted her support when that became widely known.

As for supporting Putin over their own POTUS...you're talking about a small minority of people, on both sides mind you, that actually support Putin. And that was just a favorability rating from a poll that was taken before he invaded Ukraine. We don't know what it is at this point in time. Yet you're making it out as if a majority of people are supporting Putin over Biden.

You are right about one thing though. The United States is no longer "united". And there is a magnitude of hatred in this country that is outrageous. You can thank the "news" media and politicians for that.

You can try to change the subject to anything you want, but my initial point stands: Pseudo-cons whine about EVERYTHING when not in power.

No, my point is, and has been from my 1st post, that they whine about EVERYTHING when they are not in power. You trying to show me that 66% of GOP and 88% of Dems support banning Russian oil has nothing to do with it. They still whine about EVERYTHING.

It's weird how the oil companies decided to start profiteering hard back in November of 2020.

Did something happen in November of 2020? Something significant maybe?

Change the subject? This was my discussion with someone else. You jumped in and said I was wrong. I was not. I found a poll on the subject, and as it turns out, i was 100% correct!

I have not changed the subject even remotely.

You on the other hand are NOW trying to say that your argument was that 'Republicans' "whine about EVERYTHING when they are not in power", however your actual statement was ...

Now that we see your ACTUAL statement, it was NOT what you are now claiming it to be. You were saying that the party not in power is the bleeding heart party, and I refuted that by telling you that while there are some that will oppose just to oppose, the overwhelming majority of Republicans support not getting oil from Russia.

When I said that, I did not know of the existence of that poll. I looked it up, and it turns out that polling on the subject backed me up 100%, and it is true that the overwhelming majority of Republicans do in fact support not getting oil from Russia.

While I am pointing out my consistency and how polling backs me up 100%, you on the other hand are trying to misrepresent what your point was.

The irony is that YOU are actually trying to claim that I am the one trying to change the subject. Yeesh. You are aware that there is an easily accessible written record of this conversation do you not?

I responded to post 27 which had nothing to do with what you are talking about now.

I stand by what I stated and you are free to believe whatever you want.

I abhor all forms of tyranny
    you misread.

I was comparing one tyranny democracy to another tyranny Nazism which isn't all that different.
You're either mistaken or dishonest if it's the ladder I'm glad you expose your dishonesty.

Yes, and my response to you in post 31 is precisely what I said it was, and it directly responded to and refuted your post 30 which was in response to post 27.

Nobody will follow that, but both you and I know that what I said was 100% backed up by polling, and that same polling contradicts what you said.

For good measure, your response to 27 was ...

"The party NOT in power is always the bleeding heart party, and those in power are the "suck it up" party.

If this is news to you, then you haven't been around much."

Being that the overwhelming majority of Republicans support not using Russian oil ( as proved by the polling), your response to 27 is contradicted by that polling.

There is nothing to "suck up" because my point has been 100% supported by the polling and yours has been 100% contradicted, but I do get a chuckle from you quoting Michael Avenatti as your attempt at smack talk. Bless your little heart.

It is blatantly obvious that I have had difficulty with nothing in this conversation.

Are you under the impression that condescension without justification somehow supports your point? It doesnt, any more than does the polling that contradicts your position, and supports mine 100%.

Well if you put it to me as simply "Would you pay 7 dollars a gallon for gas for a year to help Ukraine win this war?" I'd vote aye, yes.

Everybody has thresholds when it comes to self interest however, and it would be foolish to be cavalier in this without making a plan public to address the issue if for no other reason than to pump the brakes on the speculators.

Yes, I've read your sig. It says basically that you have found what you want to support your position.
It does not indicate you factored in anything that discredited that position.....
And that premise is most certainly flawed.
Try reading mine- particularly the one from Kettering.

Lots of smart people are unfortunately not also wise people, often not people willing to back away, look at the whole picture and let the facts construct the conclusion.
Always get a better answer when you start with the conclusion, then find reasons to support it. Most often wrong, but more in line with what one wants to believe...

Most ignorant statement yet. The spigot is ours. It's on US soil and the Biden government won't even countenance turning it back on even in an absolute emerge. And note had Biden not turned it off in the first place thereby increasing world wide energy prices Russia would not have had sufficient money to finance his invasion in the first place.

    "Show"?

To me "show" means providing evidence in the form of links, references, quotes, numbers.... You just made a wild claim. A false claim that is also off-topic. Which people do when they have no response to the point that is on-topic
