    The Forest fire out in California produced more carbon emissions than any other pollutants in California.

    Oh and they want to get rid of nuclear too.

    yes, but the trees will grow back and then absorb as much carbon, as when they burnt when they were lit. That is why trees are considered a renewable energy source. and Not a fossil fuel. If you have a acre of hard wood and you burn one tree and plant another every year you are not decreasing or increasing the co2 content of the air over a 50 year period. Now that is not as good a planting a 50 trees in a swampy meadow and using a solar powered geothermal heat pump but your not hurting the environment.

    But I don't just understand why the government just does not mandate that new home and new building construction be as close to zero energy as economically possible. A new home in my town goes about 400,000, to add Solar and a geothermal pump will add 20,000 -30,000 and another 5-8000 for open and closed cell insulation. So for 10 percent more money you use 80% less energy from the grid.
