Yeah, the gun nuts are all making us feel so safe and warm with their expressions of "patriotism", "good citizen responsibility", integrity", "concern" for life, and their "well ordered militia". The specificity of his threat is particularly rational, NOT. I wonder, will these guys hand out medals for the first "100 neighbors slaughtered", the first "500 neighbors slaughtered", etc.?
Both sides made claims during the presidential campaign that the other side would riot if they lost. What you're talking about now has nothing to do with the election. This is now a matter of Constitutional rights. I for one don't believe for a second that there is going to be any attempt to ban guns. There may be a ban on the scary looking so-called "assault" rifles, and some procedural changes, but there's not going to be a ban on guns, and there's not going to be a door to door confiscation of guns. This is not Britain or Austrailia where we are all (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and allow our government to disarm us.
Sounds like this idiot will be arrested soon enough. Making threats of killing people is not covered under the 1st amendment.
I never believed in any of the stories of rioting or succession. People always seem to threaten things if they don't get what they want. If the government initiates another AWB then you will see many people riot, many likely with their assault weapons in hand as a physical middle finger to the new law. But it wouldn't spiral into an all out chaotic war scenario. A lot of people would simply not turn their weapons in and be done with it. But many would indeed riot and it would get ugly on some occasions. But overall it would be relatively small scale. However, if the government ever initiated an all out ban on firearms then there would be chaos. That's when you would see the armed rioters all over the nation literally up in arms about it. But the government isn't planning on doing that so we have nothing to worry about.
That IS a good point. How many times did we hear "If Obama doesn't win, blacks will riot".....so, here we are, Romney didn't win... and those same guys are threatening to riot themselves.
