Awesome. I keep a real katana handy and escrima sticks on hand. Oh and a really sneaky razor-sharp concealed butcher knife where no post-midnight 'visitor' would suspect.

I said most murders are intraracial--please see the boldface I added above to my earlier message #421 , meaning they occur within a race. Therefore, blacks are the most frequent murderers, targeting blacks.

But you didn't read intraracial right, so I didn't strengthen your position, and you messed up your own credibility by not reading intraracial as intraracial. You changed it in your head to interracial for some odd reason.

Guns are for wimps. Only paranoid or lazy people would keep one by their bedside IMO. I keep an axe handle in my closet. Don't see why you'd need anymore than that.

at risk for what? Less that poisons in the household? ladders, pools, stairs, showers, automobiles, crazy people who totally disrespect live?
Live is full of risks. That is an inescapable fact. Live is a risk. Lawful owners are not a risk. We tend to be safer with our guns than the police over here.

I cannot understand why they think death is preferable to just stopping someone

You know what they say about blokes who take an axe handle to a gun fight?

There is less of a chance of death if I use a gun for self defense over a axe handle or bat. WIth the gun, there is a chance that I can get the criminal to stop in their tracks at a distance--which would be my first choice. With the axe handle that is a foolish idea, and I have to try to kill the intruder. Don't be mistaken, an axe handle to the head is a lethal attack. More people in the U.S. are murdered by blunt objects like hammers, clubs, axe handles than by rifles.

None of these options fit me. I lean left, and I don't own a gun. I have never really had the need to own a gun, considering that I live in a fairly safe area and don't have an interest in hunting. However, I don't "hate" guns in any sense. Ownership of a gun is not inherently immoral. I support universal background checks for purchases, concealed carry restrictions, and further restrictions on semi-automatic weapons (I would support a non-traditional ban where the only punishment for ownership is confiscation of the weapon, and revocation of the perpetrator's gun license,) but other than that, I don't support strict gun control measures. I find it particularly annoying when some leftists pretend that gun control is the only solution to crime and believe that gun ownership is evil. So I would say that if there were "left-leaning and don't own a gun," option I would select it, but none of these fit for me.

You do realize that all the things you've said you'd support would be classified as "gun control", right?
If you meant that you find supporters of "gun bans" annoying, I agree.

My brother thinks the knee level trick is a bad idea too, and he's a former state cop. Honestly, I came up with the knee level thing so my rounds don't go through any walls into the neighbor's houses.

As far as someone surprising me in the middle of the night...all my friends know it would be like invading Mister McGoo's house, if McGoo was heavilly armed and deaf too. Never happen!

And yet in Australia we do not feel the NEED to be armed in our own homes

Really? Or is it that the Australians who feel that need automatically get 'punished' by Australia's version of Political Correctness for saying that they want to be armed . . . and so they just don't say anything? How many Australian women living alone would actually prefer to have a gun on hand for those 'oh so interesting' bumps in the night . . . when nobody else is supposed to be in the house?

Keeping a gun by one's bed is racist. Moreover, having a home security system is considered by many to be racist as well. It's obvious and generally understood from whom the homeowner is attempting to protect himself.

    I assume you're being TIC.
Frankly, I do not discriminate at all. I will shoot you lawfully if you enter my home unlawfully no matter what race you claim. I'm open minded that way. :gun:

Yes, but depending on their mentality, people with similar policies to mine on gun control can also be fairly annoying.
