that's a complete bit of BS- the Klan passed gun control in the south not because of a massive death problem but so they could harass freed blacks. The Irish mob passed the Sullivan law in NYC not because of massive deaths but because they wanted to shake down Italian immigrants. The Gun control act of 68 was passed because Democrats started losing elections because they were soft on violent street crime. The clinton gun ban was passed even though the guns targeted were used in less murders than fists and the Hughes Machine gun ban was passed for no other reason than to try to derail a pro gun bill. SO you are flat out wrong about why gun control is passed. and when you squeal for real gun control that obviously means something more than your parrot cries for JUST A FORM

Find a solution that targets 60% of all gun deaths that turn out to be suicide related and i’ll listen.
Find a solution that targets the remaining 80% of gun deaths that are gang related and i’ll listen.
The rest of the gun deaths do not represent a bloodbath, in fact we wouldn’t even be talking about them because they are so low for a country of our size.

This 'we' you speak of... its mainly urbanites. WE in 'the sticks' know about the horrors of living in big cities, and we avoid them. 'We' (who refuse to live in the opolis) do not have a gun problem, or even a violence problem. 'They' (who live atop one another with no room to breathe) have a violence problem, and 'we' are not surprised. 'We' (as you would put it) have a city problem, not a gun problem.

Statistics are interesting and interpreting them is fun.

But if you are that 1 in 360 million then the statistics were deceiving and irrelevant.

I prefer to think of the risk of danger in terms of possible/impossible.

Particularly since I was once on a subway car when it was taken over by 2 gang members and they beat the crap out of somebody until he was bleeding for whatever reason that I never found out. That was on my way to work. That day it would have been good to be armed. That day I was not.

Now I am armed 24/7/365.

 

And we need gun control to handle our city problem. Duh
