Maybe it is commie china spying on you via your smart phone.

Anyway, I read a story years ago about a man who was working on his car alone. The car fell off the jack stands and he was being crushed. His nearby apple smart phone heard his screams for help and called 9/11 and transmitted its location. The article suggested this was the greatest thing ever. It sent chills down my spine for exactly the opposite reason. I meant his phone was monitoring him 24/7. Just because the data stops by Apple before reaching the government and lord knows who else does not mean that it "safe" or "private"

Your OP said nothing about any books, just an open statement from your son with no source. There is no point answering your question if you've not established exactly what "NSA spying" you're actually talking about (real, claimed or imagined).

All of it. There is no specifics. They collect ALL INFORMATION. They don’t just collect it when it goes out of country. They constantly collect. They’ve even sued some US companies who refused to give them their encryption keys. This touches everything! Facebook, yahoo, google, Apple, Verizon, you name it they all have handed over collecting keys to the government.

why do you want specifics when the government uses none. They do in fact collect off of absolutely no standard. They claim they do. But they don’t. According to Snowden the NSA collects data on a “three hops” basis. Meaning collecting data on people who talks to people, who talks to people, who talks to people, who talks to you. Someone with an average friends list on FB of 150 this can add to more people than the population of Colorado (according to the guardian).

snowdens book gets into much more detail but my kids claim nor my claim was wrong and if attack my kids intelligence in this thread you’re going to piss me off real quick

If you said something like this to my face yours would be rearranged

this thread was meant to be a discussion of a personal conversation you rat puke. You mention my kid as if I’m raising him wrong when you don’t know crap about the NSA collection program! Like you have some sort of moral high ground on how I encourage my kid with anything. You haven’t even read Snowden’s book yet you want to chime in as if you know it all? Go trust the government that was doing this without letting us know, I’ll trust the leaker.

Could have. He’s not old enough or I don’t think he is old enough to comprehend my Snowden book on the shelf so I doubt it was that. But maybe something on tv. He was born the same year all this came out so I know it wasn’t that either.

Sadly, a few weeks ago, I dropped mine in salt water for maybe 4 seconds off the coast of the Sovereign Nation of FatBackatoria. It's only 5 ft wide, 50 ft long and composed entirely of oyster shells and disappears at high tide but I was there and claimed it as my own. Had my flip phone about 4 years, it's toast now.

It was, until I had to poop.
Had to let er eat. Either that or sht my britches!
I was actually trying to get to dog island (visible in the distance) but the wind and tides were not helping. It's about 3 acres, with trees and open areas you can camp on for free. Totally undeveloped but that's a plus. I plan to camp a few nights on my vacation. Bring a frying pan, some oil and breading and a propane stove and plenty of beer. Running out of ice around 40 hours later will suck though. Screenshot 2021-07-14 12.39.38 PM.png download (20).jpeg

    You were saying?
U.S. court: Mass surveillance program exposed by Snowden was illegal

    Reuter’s
(Reuters) - Seven years after former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden blew the whistle on the mass surveillance of Americans' telephone records, an appeals court has found the program was unlawful - and that the U.S. intelligence leaders who publicly defended it were not telling the truth.
