    Interesting.

Your link is claiming that El Paso is charging Trump about 10 times what other cities charge him for the exact same kind of rally.

Would you pay that price gouging?

    Shame on El Paso.

Because it takes 10 times as many cops to protect POTUS as it does an ex-congressman from El Paso?

    Nah. Too logical.

No, El Paso charged ten times what other cities charged Trump for the exact same thing.

El Paso did not provide ten times the amount of protection for Trump, they saw a way to price gouge him and tried to do it.

Like charging the military 900 dollars for a single rivet.

Why do you approve of people doing this?

Are you happy when there is a hurricane and gas stations raise their prices ten times higher simply because they know the people will pay it?

Are you one of those people?

Tell me what in the world costs half a million dollars to protect the president with for a couple of hours? Other cities spend about 50,000 on preparation and pay for workers, what did El Paso do that cost 500,000?

The majority of that is the bill from the El Paso police department charging Trump 380,000 dollars.

    WTF?

Even if they had every cop in town on overtime the bill wouldn't be that much for a couple hours of work.

    OMG

they'll have to sue him... funny part is, they'll only get 10 cents on the dollar, iow the actual cost it should've been... gotta love america and it's attorneys!

I might understand a 60k bill for the fire department but not 380k for police protection.

Trump already has the Secret Service so the cops are basically just doing crowd control and since the left loves to tell us how small Trumps rally's are that wouldn't take more than a couple of them.

I would assume these costs would be roughly negotiated prior to the event with a quote provided for services rendered in relation to the event. I would hope that a business savvy man like Trump would be smart enough not to plan events in towns who's quote was non-competitive. He was not legally obligated to land his plane in El Paso and hold a rally in that town.

Trump doesn't run that, his campaign manager does and probably does it by delegating it to someone else.

Trump or any candidate does not involve themselves with the daily operations of the campaign.

    That's just silly.

I don't know from any experience how this works but I assume the campaign has a standard cost analysis of what a campaign stop costs and doesn't really worry about it since they do so many of them and they are all within the same given range.

They get the bill and it's expected to be between 50 and 80k depending on the size of the city so they pay the bill and move on.

Now here comes El Paso, a tiny city actually, suddenly charging the half a million for the same stuff every other city does for a tenth of the cost?

    Massive red flags here.

Which is why whoever decided to charge him 10 times the normal amount also leaked the bills to the media.

    These people are so obvious.

Well either way they said they aren't paying because they are disputing the bill.

You can dispute any bill and it puts it on hold so it's not like he simply walked away from it.

More liberal lies and Fake News from the left in this thread.

Exactly. Since there don't appear to be any other cities complaining, and El Paso is the only one to bill 10 times as much and then leak the bill and contact the media, then the obvious political attack is...obvious.

Shitty excuse. There shouldn't be any 'red flags' after the event, if Trump runs as tight a ship as many claim, and if he is a credible businessman. That's what you guys were casting your vote for, a man who ran the government and the campaign like a business. That means you get an estimate in writing, and either you look at the estimate or you make sure someone else does!. If El Paso got one over on Trump, most likely, its because either directly, or indirectly Trump allowed it.

If someone comes into your house when you are gone and steals all your stuff it's your fault for not locking the door behind you.

    Your logic is laughable.

I am sure the costs are arranged and agreed to beforehand, if not trump is an extremely bad businessman (oh wait, we already knew that) — that said my smallest company creates more detailed invoices.

No that is not why we cast our vote, we cast it to keep Hillary out.

All the great stuff Trump has done has been icing on the cake.

The general election was not the only vote cast, its just the only one people want to talk about now. 12 other candidates entered in Iowa, including governors, senators, a mayor, a doctor etc. Any one of them might have kept Hillary out.
