Humans will be humans It is no good going on about what "they" should do - you work with what you have and what we have is a race with a strong sex drive that is coupled to an intense pleasure system and the inability to reliably use any device more complicated than a knife and fork
And you don't? Worse, your version of 'how things should be' (indulge every passing urge and damn the consequences) is paid for in the blood of innocents. Ours is not even paid for in blood, and certainly involves no innocents.
No 'message of abstinence' works when it's out of context (ie, the kid being 'told' is from an environment in which abstinence is not the norm). Shutting the door after the horse has bolted. And furthermore, abstinence is not taken seriously as an option when everything around the kid is screaming that sex is utterly unavoidable from the age of 13, and reinforcing the message that teens have no potential or right to say no. IE, in public high school sex education classes.
Actually, not having sex is 100% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies. So you are wrong. It DOES work. Just like contraction works if used correctly and reliably. That question about judgment was a joke, right?
Wrong. Some humans WILL change. Our point is that anyone can, but some choose not to. A very important point, I might add.
Except I never said that... . My how dramaaaaaatic… just more hyperbole like your first false statement about me. What was "ours" again? And who is "our" ?
It only works if adhered to and it proven time and time again that it is not adhered to. Even priests don't adhere to it And I repeat Who are you to judge what others should and should not do?
FoxHastings said: ↑ .....YUP your "and yets" should clearly show you humans will not change.... More BS, HOW do you know people have sex without consideration for the consequences? Now you think you can READ their minds as well as control them ??? I obviously meant "humans" as an entire historical group. Yes, some people change and some people don't....that is what Freedom and Liberty and being human is all about.
. Oh for pete's sake, you know damn well she meant PREACHING abstinence.. "Contraction" ? Duh, if you mean contraception not all is reliable and NO ONE is obligated to use it.
That's the question that has been avoided throughout....they just yell and scream about abstinence and birth control but NEVER offer a solution...
Hang on.......... Isn't the fact there is a kid there indicating that abstinence at some point was not followed?
I've answered it so many times it's not funny. The solution is for EACH of us to seek and act upon, as we see fit. And for those of us not so morally bankrupt that we think it's more important to enable grown women to be irresponsible, than to save a baby, we will continue to make a clear social distinction between the two variants. Just as most of us do when it comes to other examples of crappy behaviour.
Yes, I just saw that! It was predictive text of course, but funny in the sense that it was an obstetric term, given the debate
Oh for sure. We should all be free to do whatever we like, consequences be damned. After all, that's so much more huggy.
It's more like ""the solution is for EACH of us to seek and act upon, as YOU see fit".... How do you intend to do that? Stand outside clinics going , Tsk, tsk, with tight pursed lips and looks of disapproval ?

Well, ya, no one should be forced into loving kindness...it IS way too "Jesus"... """"""crank said: ↑ And you don't? By repeatedly and clearly stating the screamingly obvious. That some people are more responsible than others .. and that irresponsibility almost always ends badly for humans (in this case, tiny babies).
If it's obvious why do you have to repeat it? Yes, irresponsibility can end badly for some people....so? You won't ever stop that. We are discussing abortion, there are no "babies" involved, tiny or otherwise. """"""crank said: ↑ And you don't? Back to the topic: Without abortion poor women will be poorer..... a fact.
