So, no reasoning. Just a list of the ordinary duties of the office and some statements that resulted in no actions. I'd call that weak, but it doesn't rise to that level.

What we have is an elite ruling class that got crushed in the last election, lashing out to make it known that anyone not conforming to them will be attacked. This is why our founders did not want a big authoritarian centralized government. They knew our very freedoms would be endangered if we ever allowed our government to become this powerful.

You think our founders wanted a president who ran a secret foreign policy through someone who can claim attorney client priv? Lol

So if nobody gets arrested we can assume Barr is a weak cuck....or that your legal analysis is crap.

Lol, none of what I listed is a duty of the office. None. The President has no "duty" to circumvent the Constitution. He has the opposite duty./

If you are going to claim that the President has a "duty" to circumvent the Constitution's tax and spending clauses, for example, then you aren't so much claiming he isn't an authoritarian as being an actual apologist for authoritarianism.

Rudy is Trump's lawyer and they have protected privacy privileges. And it's not just that Schiff spied on people, it's WHO he spied on. This is a disgrace.

Those privileges only apply to legal work representing his client as his personal counsel. The moment he oversteps that and/or the moment he does anything corrupt, there is no privilege for those conversations. Besides, none of the call record information released involves conversations between Rudy and his client.

If that’s true then Rudy’s scheme was for the presidents personal gain and an even more clear abuse of power.

    No, you didn't ask me.

You made a statement of an assumption. Putting a question mark after a statement makes it a rhetorical question*.

The logs into public offices (i.e. the White House and OMB) would be public records, accounting for Rudy's calls. Nunes' calls could come from Rudy's associate "Liv," who is apparently cooperating with both the federal attorneys, who arrested him, and Congress.

No idea, you’ll have to ask the SDNY. Calling an indicted associate of the Russian mob tends to put yiu on the radar though.

I'm GUESSING that you are referring to Trump's diversion of defense funds, which he has legal discretionary control over, in order to defend the integrity of our national border.

If you think a law has been broken, go ahead and bring it up. You might want to check out post #137 first, though.

So what makes the tariffs "authoritarian"?

Congress specifically delegated that power to the President. Congress can easily regain their Constitutionally mandated authority. Until then, Trump is exercising the normal duties of the office.

Not agreeing with a policy move does not make it authoritarian.
