    Poor Americans, you really do have issues with languages, don't you? How many times have I heard 'Antarctic' pronounced 'Anartic'? Oh and French; 'coup de grace'. 'Grace' is pronounced 'grass', not 'gra'.
    Then there's 'solder'. It isn't 'sodder'! And 'too'. I've heard it mangled into something resembling 'teaow'-mostly, it seems, by Californians.

    By the way, before you start getting all prickly and defensive, and start hitting me with your Constitution, or whatever, this is meant light-heartedly.

    why would you be rolling your eyes at a correct pronounciation ? we all do french at school, if it was to be pronounced gra it would be spelled gras. grace is pronounced grass.

    A Brit saying America is bad on language? You couldn't even do well in constructing the original language other than taking French words and making them slightly different. Talking about sharing things with France I'm wondering when you'll be sharing all your Military, Navy and air force with them with that nice shared aircraft carrier, on top of that with an island about the size of our whole Navy put together you would think the accents wouldn't be that diverged but when people in your main city can't even pronounce an "H" and every person on the island wants to actually not identify with it and get away like Scotland that is about half of that speck of dust you call a united kingdom would start wondering how good my countries communication skills really are... This is also meant to not be taken seriously before I get some angry Brit trying to find me but first they will probably have to learn how to drive on the right side of the road first.

    americans speak MUCH louder than anyone else in the world, like 5 times as loud, dont know why they just do.

    Before I moved to Texas, where learning English is easy because most peeps talk naturally slowly, I was sent to Scotland to acclimate myself with a new accent. Also I suppose it was a test to see if I could get along with mildly retarded people.

    yeah funnily enough I spent a year in france to see if I could get on with the most obnoxious people on the planet, didnt work I ended up beating the crap out of loads of them

    Actually, I had a very good time in Scotland. I was housed in Aberdeen, by very friendly Scots from the middle class. They loved me, and I loved them right back.
    Same in Texas, except that I hadn't experience anything in Scotland which could be compared to the River Oaks' way of life.

    Why pick on Americans...

    The Brits pronounce Lieutenant as Leftenant...

    Where in God's name does the letter f enter into pronouncing "Lou-Ten-Ent" ...but the Brits insist on "Lef-Ten-Ent"

    or how about the word Issues...

    Brits pronounce it as Ith-yous..

    Apparently ISS is pronounced ITH in Merry Ol' England.

    No, it was me. It's dam offensive when the Commander-in-Chief deliberately calls the Naval officers "CORPSEmen" instead of the correct 'Corpsmen'......

    For one thing, he makes himself sound stupid when he does that......
