Oh scare-mongering is not going to help push your point. the 'massive' stockpiles of WMD's is an excuse ripped out of Cheney's playbook; I'll admit, gassing your own citizens is a despicable thing to do, but should the US get involved- absolutely not, it is a question of sovereignty if anything, and not because the world is at risk of some hack acquiring nerve gas in the distant future. I don't remember the US lifting a finger when Pol Pot stuffed an entire economy, but its okay because he didn't nerve his own people, he just annihilated an entire generation through conventional means; torture, rape, pillaging the usual stuff, and after that horrific display of inhumanity the US decides to play 'peacemaker' to Iraq, Afghanistan and now Syria- Please the world's security is somewhere at the bottom of the list of priorities.

If you recall I do not advocate direct U.S. Military involvement in this matter but I HAVE been telling you over and over again that a POLICY was created and that it has been decided that ASSAD will be removed from power.

THIS WILL HAPPEN one way or another and I was hoping it would be the COVERT CIA METHOD....but it seems it will be a U.S. Military Strike.

If ASSAD really cared about the Syrian People he would simply communicate with us that he intended to STEP DOWN and in the interests of keeping Syria a secular nation free of Islamic Extremists....he would open dialog with the Syrian Rebels and the Syrian Democracy Group along with the United States to ensure no loss of life and a Extremist Free Syria.

But the ONLY thing ASSAD cares about is staying in power no matter how many people will die because of it.

IF....the U.S. Military goes in and at this point it looks like we will....it will be DEVASTATING...and it will be a strike that the Syrian Military will not be able to survive.

MOSCOW, September 3 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Black and Baltic Sea Fleets’ Ropucha-class landing ships Novocherkassk and Minsk have sailed off for the Mediterranean Sea, the press service of the Russian defence ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“The Russian Navy continues stage-by-stage rotation of warships and support ships of the standing naval force in the Mediterranean,” the spokesman said. “Having passed through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits, the big landing ships will reach the designated area in the Mediterranean Sea on September 5 or 6 to start their mission under the command of the remote zone headquartered onboard the big anti-submarine ship of the Russian Pacific Fleet Admiral Panteleyev.”
Currently, one of the key tasks of the Russian standing naval force in the Mediterranean is “comprehensive monitoring over the air, underwater and surface situation in the zone of its deployment,” the Russian defence ministry said, adding that the rotation of Russian warships in the Mediterranean Sea would continue till mid-September.

We will open a dialogue with terrorists in Syria. It will be a one sided dialogue of Syrian Army telling the terrorists to get ready to meet 72 virgins in heaven before their execution. This will be the only dialogue SAA will conduct with any enemies of Syria.

 

Actually Obama's logic is to keep the WMDs out of the hands of Rebels.

 

I don't think Assad can step down even if he wanted to. He is part of a party n control and, if he is granted any sort of immunity for turning over power that immunity cannot be conveyed onto all his upper echelon who will be the ones with their finger in the dyke when the dust settles. He is their only hope to keep this thing together and if he attempts to make a deal, he will probably end up with a bullet in the head.

 

By bombing Syrian Army and weakening them , so the Al-Qaeda terrorists can get those weapons quicker?

2. Terrorists are fighting Syrian Army
3. Obama wants to keep WMD"s from terrorists
4. Result: Obama bombs Syrian Army to keep terrorists from getting WMD's.

Syrian Girl....Sunni Extremists represent a small percentage of the Syrian Rebels and I will SAY IT AGAIN....there is no stopping the reality that ASSAD WILL BE REMOVED FROM POWER IN SYRIA.

THAT is the fact and the very best thing anyone can do now is find a way to convince Assad to step down.

Clinging to some ill fated hope that Assad will some how be allowed to remain in power is not only a waste of time but dangerous as we all need to make sure once Assad is removed that Syria will not fall prey to Islamic Extremists.

Assad used Chemical Weapons and there is absolutely no way in HELL the U.S. will allow him to remain in power.

Assad could arrange to turn over Leadership of Syria to a U.S. Intern Government that would help set up a new Syrian Free Democratic Constitution and we would help scheduled Syrian Elections.

If Assad did this he could count on being able to go to the U.S. at least for the time being until Syrian's demanded his return to Syria for trial.

You ever met Syrian rebels? I have and it was not pleasant. They weren't even the most radical ones.

Point is, unless he is going to tell his staff he is going to the bathroom and make a quick exit out the door to a waiting cab nobody is going to let him do that as they and their extended families would not be afforded the same saftey. We are talking probably an inner circle of twenty five people and their families, cousins, friends etc. Keeping this goat show on the road is all that separates them from getting a lynch mob after them.

Here I am TELLING YOU....that everyone needs to be prepared when Assad is removed and instead of you attempting to figure out and make suggestions of how Syria could go forward....you are still defending Assad.

Assad is going to be removed...period.

Now...how about suggesting some ideas on how to get the various Syrian Factions and Groups to sit down and be inclusive to all sides?

What I really hope will not happen is if Assad attempts to use Chemical Weapons on a neighboring country or perhaps upon any U.S. Special Forces that will without a doubt already be in Syria right now.

You know....I am the one who has been saying it is STUPID to strike Syria as I have advocated the use of the CIA to covertly supply the Syrian Rebels that we know are actually Syrians.

But at this point....and ESPECIALLY now that I have been told to stand down as I will not be going over there...I KNOW....the Military Option is GOING TO HAPPEN.

"Assad killed 100,000 people" argument is for morons who lack common sense.

Think about it.... That would imply that Syrian Army has killed 100,000 civilians and no one else, while not even losing one soldier!

55,000 killed have been pro-Syria government and paramilitary forces

35,000 killed are FSA/ Alqaeda rebels

10-15,000 killed are civilians (how many of these killed by mass executions, mortar attacks by rebels, and 1000 suicide bombings in syria in 3 yrs)

then you realize that all that 100,000 killed by Assad is pure garbage for a Western audience that cannot even find their own country on map, let alone Syria!

Actually the Syrian forces stated they lost over a thousand soldiers just in the protest of '11 alone.
