Felons were the only ones on that list that did have an actual Constitutional right to firearms ownership but they lost that right due to the Constitutional process noted in the 14th Amendment, its called a trial.

Per the above spreadsheet, there were 98 mass shootings between 1982 and 2018 (including Parkland).

The data is complicated, because almost all of the shooters had multiple weapons, so in the below if the shooter had a handgun, a rifle and a shotgun, they would could in each category. This is why the numbers totalled are much higher than 98. I didn't count multiples of weapons, so for my data, a shooter with two handguns counted the same as a shooter with one handgun.

I got 78 handguns, pistols or revolvers, 30 Assault rifles (and I was generous and counted the Mini-14 and M-1 Carbine as assault rifles), 11 Rifles (not assault), and 25 shotguns.

My initial posting was a little off, but the basics are correct. 80% used handguns. 30% used assault rifles. 26% used shotguns.

Believe you me if the Gov't came after you those AR15s that you value so much would be like having a pellet gun as compared to the fire power they are coming with.

 

They did a pretty good job in Iraq and Afghanistan with similar weapons killing our troops. The house to house fighting in Fallujah was carried out with kalishnikovs and they extracted a heavy toll in US casualties even with our overwhelming firepower.
