Does that mean, you don't think businesses should be able to do business with those they follow their rules?

OK, I figured RW was not really about small gov't free markets. Based on posts like yours in the past.

They can't slow your connection. We have net neutrality. Oh, wait, no we don't.

The only place I'm banned that I know of is Reddit so far. I can read everything but I can't comment. I may have been a little too acerbic for their tastes hence the shadow ban.

Sure. There is an important distinction missing from these arguments against 'big tech,' however: There is the concept of free speech (which big tech is violating and has every right to), and then there is the legal framework and constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech, which prohibits the state from infringing on the citizen's right thereto.

The arguments being offered against Twitter, FB, et al, are correctly identifying the philosophical violation of the concept of free speech, while simultaneously indulging in the fallacy that a person is owed a platform by a third party. This is an erroneous conflation.

But the internet is undoubtedly shaping how we distribute and consume the news today. The future of journalism is inextricably linked with the future of the internet.

That is why Net Neutrality matters and why publishers, journalists and everyone who seeks to influence or contribute to our shared culture should be worried.

For newsrooms, the FCC’s proposed rules mean that a company like Verizon could decide where its users can go for news and what stories get buried online. Verizon could strike a deal with CNN and hinder its subscribers’ abilities to access alternative news sources.

Straw man. Freedom of speech does not oblige any private party to provide platform to another private party. And thought irrelevant to the argument, I'll remind you that Zuck started FB in his dorm room with $0.

    Fallacy, ad hominem.

How did they break company rules? I have yet to see anyone post any evidence WalkAway broke the rules.

that is not true, but even if it was, it's no different than a Christian site banning Muslims, ect.... it's their site, they control it

most sites now are trying to ban hate speech, I think we will see more of this on mainstream sites, but I also think people will create more underground sites for those that want to listen to the hate

Well it requires some knowledge, desire, and a commitment to meeting objectives. To be fair, that's a lot of work for some people.

But I don't think we're even talking about a business per se. We're talking about a platform where consenting adults can express their views... the marketplace of ideas. This forum is a great example. XenForo -- the engine of PF -- is open source freeware. A small investment in bandwidth and you're up and running. The owners of PF could probably be making some decent money by selling ads here, but they have elected to ask for donations instead and maintain a clean, ad-free space. Oh, and there are rules. If a person can't comply with the rules? They are shown the door... Violation of 'free speech' ?? Not even a little bit.

I have no clue. Never heard of them.
The OP started a thread about it, it should be in the OP or linked.

Straw man, ad hominem. Two fallacies in one sentence! Wow, you going for a record or something?

Fallacy, ad hominem. Good job, you kept the fallacy count to one this time!

For now, give it time. The dems still have many other ways to shut it down.
