I read and studied this in English at secondary school because it was a part of my mock exams a year before taking my finals.
We read it, had it read to us, the class had copies of it stored away, had to write reports about it, answer questions, such as what hidden meanings and what society and all of that and who's character served what purpose of this society; and the class had to sit through that movie too that term/semester.
    Was alright I guess.
    Well written tale.

    John Hurt as Winston Smith.....
The movie, with Roger Deacons, it was well done.
