I have had to wait out engine inspection from bird strike

It takes half a day to fly in the equipment

Freaking Wedge Tail decided it would take on the plane

That was not my experience on planes of similar model and period. The A380 is ahead of everything but Boeing doesn't make a plane in its size class.

I'd also point out that with twice the crashes per flight your most important factor might not be comfort with an Airbus, unless you include not having your skull instantly crushed at 500mph under comfort.

Bullshit. Boeing exists double the time of airbus.

As for comfort i did fly with a 767 to MAuritius and went out the aircraft like a zombie. Never before felt so bad after a flight. We did a flight on a A350 to Chile and all was awesome. Jumped out aircraft, went hotel and then city tour. Contrary to that when flying to Lima Peru we had a 787 and again horrible.

Are you saying they've had this superior safety record for a longer time as they are an older company, or their aircraft are used for longer before they are retired and despite this they still have half the crashes per flight?

    Please clarify.

I've done 737NG and A320 of similar year and both were comfortable, spacious aircraft.

    Can't speak for the 767.

The 767 is pure hell. I wonder if the bastards who designed and build that trash actually ever sit in this garbage and what they think about it.

I mean, if you just want to shout talking points out of an Airbus product brochure then I'm all for that - but I came here thinking we were going to have a reasoned dicussion with data rather than anecdotes and reason rather than emotion.

I may have misjudged the caliber of this discussion, so I apologise.

Anyway, BOEING RULES 4 LYF!!1!! AIRBUS SUX

I for one support the establishment of an aerial parachuting mixed species human-eagle MMA league.

Prize money is paid in bird seed.

Plus because there would be no cage match theoretically this would be legal in Western Australia, unlike octagon UFC.

I can tell you the main ptoblem of the 767 is noise. Somehow its very loud inside. My guess is that its narrow hull is not very indulated. The very dry air is another problem. 10% is definitly too low for humans to feel comfortable

What I didn't like flying Airbus was that I had twice the risk of crash per flight I took. That was scary.

I wished we crash at some point of this flight. It appeared like an act of mercy then.

If you were flying Airbus you would have had a slightly higher than 2x chance of your wish being fulfilled.

    Thanks, I knew all that.

Show me any aircraft engine manufacturer claiming its engines are bird or FOD proof. Just one...

There aren’t any, some just more resistant than others.

Do they advertise it that way, or is that your claim?

The point is that NO turbine engine is bird proof or bird 'resistant'. There are no screen covers on the inlet to keep FOD including birds out of the machine.

A smaller point is you seem to make baseless claims....

Perhaps, but my point that no jet engine is bird resistant stands, and you know it.

They certainly do test windshields for bird resistance, and have done so for many years, but jet engines are fragile in that way, and Sully's incident and this incident in Russia demonstrate that.

I'm quite sure the 380 has been discontinued.

You obviously have never seen the R&D that goes into these engines. These engines are not only subjected to long full power runs, they are over revved to 3 times their maximum rated RPM, they are made to ingest huge quantities of water and hail, and yes even have dead birds shot directly into the fan. The engines are designed to continue to operate in these conditions to the best that technology can provide.

    Because its expensive and huge.

Its the most popular aircraft for passengers though. Unfortunately that means **** for airlines. They prefer cheap cattle transport

Birds are no problem for any engine. What causes destruction is a bird swarm. When many birds hit the engine the impacts create osscillating effects which starts the engine to rip apart internally.
