Ethiopian girl reportedly guarded by lions

Once the authoties found the girl,the lions left the girl and went back into the forest....One creature showing empathy for another creature with no gain for the creature doing the helping.

 

nature has a funny way of sustaining the lives, in empathy

 

maybe someone can see that the 'rolls have been reversed'

 

Truely Allah was looking out for that girl.

 

I am guessing the animal that showed empathy was not an atheist?

Well since chistians claim god made man ruler over the animal kingdom, i doubt they would want to profess to christianity.

 

Gee, this sounds like the modern day version of the story of Daniel. The only thing lacking was the capture of her abductors and their placement among the lions. Perhaps this story should be called "Daniella and the lions den"?

While the story is rather fascinating, and empathy for the girl should overwhelm our hearts, lets not forget the tragedy in this.

More often than not, the Ethiopian savages rape, or even consummate marriage with, these girls, then leave them to themselves, to deliver their children from far too young and underdeveloped bodies, knowing very little, if anything about the birthing process, while the 'fathers' don't care enough to bring their conquests to a hospital, or avail them to any help at all, for they are just women.

Upon damaging their bodies, they are often left by the roadside like smelly garbage, while the men go on to another conquest.

Makes you wonder how the relatives and Gov officials went about their 'dating rituals'.

God bless those Lions, even if they just mistook this girl for a cub.

 

Sounds like the secular, or at best, Deist explanation of why the lions guarded her...how come they didnt defend their 'cub' from the others who came to provide her safety? The entire story still seems somewhat 'super-natural' to me....

 

I had not thought of it in those terms, but if there is such a competition, then I politely withdraw and will gladly hand the award winning title back over to you. LOL

Yes a beautiful story, these great cats had empathy for a defenseless, beaten girl. They are better than any of the useless men of Ethiopa.

All the lions I see on TV in the wild, "eat" defensive, weak, crippled animals..!! Couldnt have been 'super-natural,"...nah!

Er... you made the stupid claim.

Show me an animal that profess a believe or disbelief of anything. Now ... back to planet Earth.

 

This is the most monumentally stupid interpretation of events I have seen for a long time.

Lions are big cats and predators. They hunt at night for their food, working in groups to bring down big prey.

These lions chased away these men but they were not "guarding" the girl for her own good. They understood she was too weak to fight them and too slow to run away so they did not bother to kill her right away.

I have seen house cats act the same way when they catch a mouse. I once saw three of my cats sitting in a circle playing with a mouse. One of them had it caught by the tail. The cat would release the mouse, let it run away, and then catch it again and drag it back. This was a game the other cats found highly amusing.

These lions did not have empathy for this girl. Lions are not capable of such emotions. In all the animal kingdom only a dog has empathy for a human and will risk its life to save a human. But a dog is a domesticated animal, bred for thousands of years to be our best friend and companion.

These lions are wild and dangerous and lethal. They weren't protecting this girl, they were saving her for a snack. Anyone who thinks otherwise should wander into a lion's den and see how much empathy they will get.
