The sentence for both crimes should be death...but thats just my view..
What you and the corby supporters have to understand is that
a/ she was found guilty of a crime in Bali NOT Australia. Our laws and social commentary mean nothing.
b/ The pot was not put into her bag by a baggage handler, that has been de bunked so many times already
c/ No matter how much you rail against it she will more than likly do her full wack over there.

Previously debunked, yes, they can. The smell and appearance of hydro pot is distinctive.

Previously debunked, hydro pot is worth as much as if not more in Bali than in Australia.

Previously debunked, legal experts agree that given the evidence Corby would also have been found guilty in an Australian court.

And the cost of living in Bali is a fraction of the cost of living in Australia. Why do think so many Aussies go there?

Lets see you try to lie your way out of this one.

    ===========

Ian 10-09-2011, 10:02 AM "Also as I previously stated the gun buy back scheme was very successful resulting in a lowering of the rate of suicide by firearm by 80 percent or more."

Ian 10-09-2011, 02:28 PM "Wrong. The suicide rate has been steadily declining in Australia since 1996 for both genders, from a high of 25 per 100,000 to now as low as 5 per 100,000. The facts are that firearms are an extremely efficient way of doing yourself in, quite often suicide attemepts are very impulsive and a bullet in the brain offers no 2nd chances. No other means rivals it. The gun buy back scheme has saved a huge number of lives."

By your own figures, suicide by firearm has dropped by 80%, while the general suicide rate has dropped by 80%, which leaves you exactly nowhere. Since you have displayed a great lack of knowledge regarding this issue, and unless you have already arrived at an emotional conclusion, restristing you from further thought on this matter, you might be interested in some facts.

Well (hope the Jacks aren’t listening) I have grown indoor/out door and hydro.

Good buds are good buds and bad buds are bad buds, regardless of the growing conditions. All depends on the seed/cutting.

So while you may expect “hydro” to be easy to pick, it just aint that simple, however it is easier to replicate a good quality smoke from cuttings in a hydro set-up. And hydro can get…..um….weak? Sometimes the buzz from hydro can be great, but it can be like Chinese food, ½ hour later you are still hungry.

Had one once we dubbed “Danger” that was out doors and as good as it gets “must be hydro?” – nope just good buds. Give me good out-door any day.

Hmmmmmmmm, pity I’m at work :(

I wouldn't go to places like Bali, Phuket, Pattaya etc for the simple reason,, too many foreigners behaving badly.

I haven't been to Bali but have been to Pattaya.. I'll never go back..

All said, I like Thailand but not the touristy places.

What I find exceedingly funny is that the people who know all bout Bali and Indonesia have never been there. In fact they have never travelled out of their little insular part of the world. And yet, they argue.

If Bali is a sbad as you decalare why has Laidley let this happen:

"It was the scariest 20 minutes of your life. We are counting our blessings as we speak, we really are. My wife is still over there, my daughter, my eldest daughter, her husband and his mum and dad, and other friends and their older kids. They’re are all over there (my emphasis)and until they get back I just don’t know ... I am distraught."

If it was so scary why are they still over there? Something doesn't smell right about this story!

100 percent agree with this, I dislike intensely the behaviour of many foreigners in these places. On my last visit through Bali I felt like punching drunken and unmannered bogans more than a few times.

Yeah,, something like a place called Vang Vieng in central Laos. A place where you can still get happy pizzas and noodle soup laced with marijuana leaves. Young backpackers mostly on their gap years looking for a good time, trekking and white water rafting/tubing,, stuff like this. The local beer for about a dollar a dollar per 640ml bottle (great beer by the way).

The arm pit of Laos and foreigners behaving badly.

Here is also a scam where the tuk-tuk drivers are in cahoots with the police. Buy dope off them and expect a meeting with a policeman who extracts a bribe.

Hopefully he's had enough of a scare to set him straight.

If he ever gets caught again, I'd have no problem with him staying in their jails.

We can hope, but i fear hope is not enough.
If they let him off he should get banned from ever going outside aust ever again just incase it hasnt cured his stupidity.

I'm certainly in support of his, and his parents', passport being cancelled for a few years.

Don't ban him from going overseas, just ban him from going to Indonesia. There is no reason why he can't travel elsewhere.
