Why is it that christians, typically right wing "conservative" christians are the ones who shout the loudest about islam? The way I figure it, they know that christianity is waning in the West, with the levels of education, scientific knowledge and the kiddie fiddling, Westerners are leaving the church in numbers never seen. Christians must see this and also see that we have, through immigrants, a rising muslim population. They feel their religion is going to become number 2 and therefore lash out at it. Stop it please, you are not going to get people back in your churches with this childish approach.
With the continuing influx of Christian immigrants of both legal and illegal status from the south, it will be a few more generations before Christianity is finished in the U.S. Liberals will just have to wait and dream.
Maybe it has something to do with Muslims bringing with them a heck of a lot of garbage. We haven't had religious strife in the USA for a good many years, (Ever? In serious numbers or not?) So, look at the crap you are trying to start. Just one more reason to welcome Islam into our communities.
Get thee behind me "[8.17] So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy), but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing." "AL-ANFAL (SPOILS OF WAR, BOOTY)" "[9.30] And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!" "[9.32] They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse." Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. "18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." Since Israel became a nation and may help bring about the 1000 year reign of jebus they can't hate the jooz openly anymore so someone else has to fill the vacuum. Muslims were the historical odds on favorite.
Answer: Islam threatens Christianity with extermination. It's a matter of survival. Your question implies that there is some kind of common ground to be had between the two but if the creeds are carefully examined, they reveal an irreconcilable conflict that pits the serious mulsim against the serious Christian. While Christ says "judge not" and "turn the other cheek", the Quran says "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book (<-that's the Bible), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." Also of note, Pat Condell, a severe critic of ALL religion (he is an atheist so he has no personal motive to defend Christians against muslims in the Middle East that threaten them) acknowledges and defends Christians in Muslim lands in this video. What has been and still is happening is disgusting.
My leaving of the church has more to do with the Republican Party's infiltration of the church than anything else. I didn't leave because I suddenly became atheist. I didn't leave because I lost my faith in God. I didn't leave because I wanted to worship a "scientist" in a lab coat. I left because I don't want to attend a Republican political rally every Sunday. The people who go to church might be waning in the West but it might have more to do with the Republican infiltration of the church than it has to do with people suddenly believing everything that comes out of the mouth of someone wearing a lab coat.
So its not education, not the pedophiles and cover ups and billions spent to silence the abused? Get a grip!
Leffe quit confusing Catholics and Christians. Not every christian is a Catholic. And while we're at it can we please quit refering to sixteen year old boys as Children? And our Chief problem with Islam is it's history over the last milleniaum and a half.

Yet Jews have a spotless record dont they. You dare not speak its name. You were domesticated fabulously.
In this I agree but my observation still stands: it's the christians who make the loudest noise. I wonder what christ would have said about this.
When was the last time you saw a "christian" doing either of these? They seem like the most vengeful set of people on the planet!
Is this a part of the thread topic? Christians don't dispatch suicide bombers to kill you if you make jokes about or criticize their religion. The worst thing we see here is the Westboro baptists holding up "God hates ****" signs at a soldier's funeral and they don't really represent most Christians so how about being reasonable in your assessment pal. We all know that most Catholics ignore the Pope and the Vatican doesn't send an army of men to subjugate the masses (get it? masses?) nor do they threaten to assassinate Dan Brown (author of 'The DaVinci Code') like the Iranian clerics threatened Salmon Rushdie. You need to have some perspective.
.. which happily ignores the real threat posed by the Islamists who represent the creed of their holy books. See my first post on this thread.
A quick perusal of this post suggests to me that people here including the OP are pro Islam, and as such have become pro Islamic Radicalism, and as such have become pro Islamic terrorism. Why else bash the Christians for being anti Islamic radicalism, if not yourself pro Islam, and as such anti American?
(*)(*)(*)(*) your first post. Without Jewish pioneering the Anti-White multicultural flooding of third world people into white countries and our relationship with Israel we wouldnt be anywhere close to the mess we are in.
No; rational thinkers, whatever their political persuasion, can only dream that the backward mentality of the religiously-challenged bible thumpers might one day be nothing but a bad memory.

Now you want out, well there is no out. And it has lots to do with this thread, a thread I started and discusses why it is that christians always condemn muslims. Now, you said: While Christ says "judge not" and "turn the other cheek". He did, so where are the christians "judging not" and "turning the other cheek?". Where are they??????? - - - Updated - - - Jesus said to (in your own words): "judge not" and "turn the other cheek", Yet here you are, judging and not turning the other cheek. Seems that you're not a christian.
In a word.......FEAR. Christians are afraid of Islam, much like most people who do not follow this faith. Muslim practices are in many ways so foreign to western civilization that they seem negative. Muslim people are creating great violence across the globe, and there is a fear they might bring it here, thus they are generally considered a bad thing. I am certainly not a Christian (or anything else for that matter). but I personally avoid the Islamic more aggressively than any other person of faith.....I simply do not like being near anything to do with it.
