Microsoft really blew their one chance at dominating Sony again. Even though I'm a Sony fanboy, I had doubts about the PS4, but after this Xbox One fiasco, Sony is getting my money again this generation. Microsoft seems to be heading down an Orwellian path with this console, and I want no part of it.

PS4 will own console games single-handedly if/when Microsoft continues this route.

I've never liked XBOX. Sure as hell won't be buying their new POS.

No. I only just bought a PS3 less than 2 weeks ago.

Everyone I've known who bought an Xbox 360 no longer has one because they broke.

Plus I don't like the idea for the Xbox One of having to register a game with the actual console and having to pay a fee to play it on another one. If your Xbox One breaks you might have to shell out quite a bit of money to play your games if you buy a new Xbox One.

Plus wtf in calling it Xbox One. Dumb people are going to think it's the original one and wonder why it's so expensive.

Microsoft has a history of shooting itself in the foot repeatedly. Windows ME, 2000, Vista, and to an extent Windows 8 have all been unpopular flops, but then they crank out some better stuff. The issues with the XB1 can be tweaked before the release or fixed later in a patch and even if they don't there's still a chance the next generation console will be better.

That or Sony could follow Microsoft's example since the two of them pretty much have majority control of high end console gaming,.

According to some reliable sources on Neogaf (StevieP stated the hardware capabilities of both the PS4 and Xbone last year spot on and CrazyButtox stated the 360 specs in Feb '05, 3 months before reveal, and 10 months before release) the Xbone is having eSRAM issues and the GPU is to be underclocked to around 800-900 Gigaflops. Rumor also has it that it's going to be delayed as well and is going to cost more than the PS4. So not only is the Xbone coming in with weaker hardware, it's doing so at a heftier cost, and it's going to be coming in later like they left the PS3 last generation.

I'll hold off buying anything until PS shows its next generation, it could go two ways....PS may stay as it is and reap the avalanche of xbox refugees or it could join xbox screw us over too, and what are we going to do about it, nothing...

I find xbox's new approach highly offensive even immoral ...

I don't like Playstation. I liked the 360 but this new console does not look good.

I hope Nintendo releases something good within the next year or two. The Wii U hasn't been a success so far.

All Nintendo has is their standard Mario/Zelda/Smash Bros and other first party franchises. If they want the Wii U to survive, they need to release new versions of those series.

Waiting to see what happens at E3 but leaning towards the PS4. Requiring an internet connection to play a single player game is a deal breaker for me.

Nail in the coffin for Xbox One....NO used games restrictions, NO required online, NO forced installs. The only thing I was kinda bummed about is paid online multiplayer....Though everything else will work without a paid subscription. I will be getting a PS4, I suppose its a small trade off for being able to still sell games and stay offline.

Except Sony is doing the same thing......PS4's are not backwards compatible, unless you pay a fee for each game you want to transfer.

Got a monster gaming PC that I built over two years ago that is still substantially more powerful..........so no. If I was going to get a console it would be the PS4 as they claim to have learned from their mistakes as far as ease of development is concerned and looking from the specs the PS4 looks a tad bit better with DDR5 isntead of DDR3.

If they had to focus almost their entire release on how easy it it to watch TV on instead of GAMES then I think that they really don't know what they are doing. Somebody is going to come along one day and come out with a powerful pure gaming console for a cheap price and they will end up taking over the market. Imagine how much more powerful they could have made the XBONER or how much lower the price would be if it didn't have all this extra crap in it. Considering that it is already comparable to PCs from two years ago it definitely isn't future proof either.

The one upside is that both Sony and Microsoft at least have learned from their mistakes and put a good health amount of RAM in them.

telling me what I can do with a game I purchased is what p***es me off...what would happen to auto manufacturers if they tried that stunt..."you only sell your car to a friend and your friend can't sell it afterward", "or you trade it in to one of our designated dealers"...

like CD's, DVD's or old vinyl albums, once you've paid for it they are yours forever to do with as you please, sell, lend or give away...if MS thinks the games belong to them then they should buy them back when I'm done with them...

I'm with ya. I have Steam on my PC and buy games that require that I be online to authenticate, and I am ok with that. Why? Because I buy the games when they are on sale like Fallout 3 with all the add-ons for like $5. For a 100+ hour game I do not mind paying $5 and having to be online... but for a game like the next Call of Duty on the XBOX One that I only want to play single player and will beat in 8 hours for $60... oh hells no! Without the ability to trade in or swap with a friend I just will not pay $60 for short games.

I agree, you buy it you own it and can do with it whatever you so desire.
