Anyone Know Any Good Documentaries?

A savage documentary about what became of the 12 million ethnic Germans in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary following the cessation of hostilities in WW2 in 1945. This was the largest case of ethnic cleansing in history and many of the acts against the Germans was on par with some of the savagery of the holocaust. They often used the Nazi's concentration camps to corral the people, where thousands died of disease and starvation.

What makes this documentary so special is that most of the footage has never been seen before, and most in the West are not aware of the full story. George Orwell criticised Churchill's plans for the ethnic cleansing in 1944 as an "enormous crime".

It turned out to be a horrific crime. Conservative estimates suggest that some 500,000 people lost their lives as a result of the operation. The city of Danzig had a pre-war German population of about 95%. By 1950 it was less than 5%.

This documentary is not for the faint hearted, as it contains seriously graphic images.

My favorite documentary is Portlandia. I know. Some of you will think this was a comedy, but it really is just the truth. I live in Oregon City who's directions are; from downtown Portland, drive south until you begin encountering normal people.

Moore isn't a documentary film maker.... Moore creates a loony theory and then creates a film around his theory... Documentaries are about truth first hand - Moore is a liar that stages what he wants people to see...

Maybe I should do a documentary about his documentaries - oh yea that has been done before and he was severely exposed as a fraud, but people liked his message so they ignored how much of a fraud he is because they wanted to view what they wanted to believe..

Moore is an insult to documentary film making, or journalism or truth for that matter...

I think Moore is a decent filmmaker, but he's not honest - he is agenda oriented..

With that said - he doesn't make documentaries - he makes movies based on his personal politics.

The Last Train Home. A great documentary showing the lives of an average, working class Chinese family. Very interesting. I watch it 3x

Drug cartels seem to have a great deal of power over the elected officials in Mexico.

If... The Donald's supporters will view this film and become more well informed a lot of good things could result from this.

This documentary primarily focuses on why our world is as messed up as it is, and what we can do to change that. It focuses in on non polluting energy sources, including so called "free energy" sources, but it also brings up everything from dangers of big pharma and GMOs to ending gang violence. Not for everyone, especially if you can't stomach listening to some people (not everyone, there's a lot of people in this documentary) who believe that extra terrrestrials have been on earth in the past, have provided clues to create free energy devices and continue to send us coded messages in crop circles. But for those who are amenable to atleast considering the possibility, here's the trailer:
