The President who really did a number on the national debt was GW Bush, with his two super expensive wars in Afghanistan & Iraq, much of which he never really asked Congress to pay for, so they became part of the deficit. And, Republicans were in charge of the money in Congress from 2010 thru 2018, so if they are so good at keeping balanced budgets, why are we facing the larges deficit in American history under a Republican President now?
