    We need a auto subcategory. There are many political issues etc that accommodate political forum’s criteria. Anyway, on to my thread~? ;

    The title seems like wishful fantasy eh? Well maybe not! Some time ago I wrote a piece about electric autos using power drawn from cables ie induction or inductive loops buried in the roadway. They would generate a magnetic field to supply the cars with energy without the need for cables and connectors via magnetic induction. I also envisioned fission power providing the massive amounts of electricity needed for conversion of fossil fueled internal combustion autos to electric. These cars would not be the run of the mill* kinda’ ugly, performance challenged in the areas of range etc. Induction powered vehicles would soon eclipse the fastest sports, and all but a handful of racing autos of today. The latter would only come to pass if the society and police accepted an 400 mph sports car with one second 0 to 60 mph times! Anyway, while I am dreaming I would like to put my order in for a 500 hp (if called on) 2020 Harley electric motorcycle…

    * there are some examples of sleek beautiful electrics tho, and they more than hold their own with their gas’ powered rivals, as long as the juice lasts~

    Oops I meant to edit the thread to say ; Now that I got your attention...ha ha' I dont think even a top fuel Harley gets near 280. A pro stock gasoline fed Harley Davidson set the record in NHRA at right at 200mph and ran the quarter mile in 6.7 seconds! That is the fastest NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle in the world.

    I looked up the Drag records suprise suprise; Harleys hold the record in Pro Stock AND top fuel! Another suprise the numers are Top Fuel The pic is the Vance and Hines harley davidson pro stock bike. The numbers are Top fuel; Korry Hogan @ 5.84, 243 mph! Nice harleys have been getting faster an faster ! Pro stock (see above). The Jap bikes are now sucking hind tit. (thats hillbilly slang~).

    Bumping an older thread I just noticed.

    Pro Stock is not "street stock"

    You can go to a dealership that sells Kawasakis and purchase a ZX-14R for around $16K and run low 9 second quarter miles...averaging 170 mph at the finish. Not much can touch it, in terms of a stock motorcycle.

    Stock...off the showroom floor and on to a track.
    Stock tires, engine, gears, exhaust; the bike as it rolls off the assembly line and moved to a dealership.

    Pro Stock, is not true stock, they cannot use artificial induction such as turbocharging, supercharging, or nitrous oxide..it's "all motor" that's all it means.

    The Hayabusa will give the ZX-14R a run for its money for sure.
