Since this race was for the Presidency, media attention was far more intense, and on a larger scale with far more funding.

The Director of the FBI works for the AG, and the AG works for the President. If the President does not want his former Sec of State prosecuted, then she won't be prosecuted. That is called corruption. The Director stated that there was no clear criminal intent. But that is not required by the statute. All that is required is to demonstrate "gross negligence". He also stated that the number of classified documents were two small to prosecute. Many people have stated that a lot of people have been prosecuted for a lot less. So, why did the Director provide such obviously false cover? Because he was ordered to. The only thing partisan was Hillary's free pass. I suggest you read the Statute for yourself. It us 18 USC 793 paragraph (f).

He informed Congress that more emails had been discovered as a result of the Weiner investigation, and that they were being reviewed to see if any of them contained classified material. Then on the Friday before the election, he announced that these emails contained anything that would alter the previous investigations findings.

There is something else to consider here also. Director Comey actually has a history in dealing with the Clintons. Comey was the one that investigated Bill Clinton in Pardon-gate. Then after quitting the Bush Administration, he went to work with a series of companies steering donations to the Clinton Foundation. It is possible that Comey cleared Hillary in hopes of considerations later on.

That might have been true if she had won the election, or if she had kept her promise not to contest the election. But she has contested the election. So, now it is even money on what Trump will do.

Based on what? There were 5 million votes cast in this election then in 2012, and 3 million more then in 2008. Further, the Green party gained nearly a million voted from 2012, and the Libertarian party gained mote then 3 million votes. Ir you add them together, you'll find the Bernie Sanders supporters.

Is that really where you want to go with this? You have a husband that is well known for cheating on his wife. One affair with a intern right in the Oval Office. You have numerous women that has accused the husband of rape. So, you claim that her paying the accusers off and/or intimidating them was nothing more then trying to keep her family together. What planet do you live on, because it obviously isn't earth.

Go back and read the wording of my post. I did not say most of the voters. I said the voters in most states. Trump won the popular votes in 30 states compared to Hillary's 20 states. In case you have trouble with simple math, Trump won the Popular vote in 2/3rds of the country. But even a large portion of the DNC wanted something different. That is why Sanders was so popular despite the DNC efforts to undermine his campaign.

Strange, I cant find a single place where I used the word "corruption" until this post. But I think I have clearly defined several areas of corruption. Like the Obama Administration giving Hillary a free pass on espionage, the DNC intentionally undermining the Sander's Campaign. and Hillary covering for her sexual predator of a husband. Those are all areas of corruption, and none of them are fake news.

But you need to remember the subject that my post was addressing. I was addressing what cost Hillary the election. It does not matter what you or I think about these issues. It is a simple fact these were issues that were considered by the voters.

I read a variety of sources that include some obviously left leaning sites. In order to understand the issues, you have to understand all sides of it. I do not rely on others to tell me what to think. I form my own opinions.

As far as seeds of doubt, they were cast a long time ago. As the DNC drug the country further to the left while claiming that extremists had taken hold of the right. People have woken up to the fact that it was actually the DNC that was in the hands of the extremists. As this country returns to a more moderate, more centrist position, then trust will begin to grow again. If the DNC fails to recognize that fact, then you will see the Libertarian party replace them as the nation's second party.

It is 2016 now. You failed. In fact it is almost 2017 and I said since the election. Australia completely pulled their donations other countries and some corporations will likely follow suit. It's happening because there are no more favors to buy.

The media attention was on Hillary being Hillary, not Hillary being a woman.

But half of Hillary's run was based on the fact she was a woman. The other half was "it was her turn". Fortunately the country decided neither one was reason enough to vote for her.

Everybody's sources are biased. That is the nature of the system in which we live and for the most part human nature as well.

Those were her failed choices to put out there. What the voters actually decided upon apparently was something else LOL. Just because I declare myself the prettiest person in the world doesn't mean I automatically win the beauty pageant.

CONSERVATIVE attention was on Hillary being a Democrat. However, my question is, partisan bias aside, did gender play ANY part in individual voters' decisions?

Have women been held to higher and different standards than men ? Ya THINK!!!

Good lord, she was vilified for wearing a SUIT...the same exact thing all male politicians wear!!! and it just went downhill from there, she laughed too loud, her voice wasn't pleasant enough, her legs didn't meet critical standards.......Yes, as a woman much more was expected of her and she was blamed for her husband's transgressions. Trumpers won't even blame TRUMP for his transgressions...

Of course it did...why do you think we haven't had a woman President in 250 years? Or took so long to get women Reps and Senators??

Or why it took so long to get the vote for women !!???

Or why women had to wait for rights that men had all along?

    Sexism is ingrained I society..

Have you never read the posts in here and what is said about women? The was a thread not too long ago saying that the only thing women did was have babies.

Go to the hilariously named "Women's Rights" Forum here....it is nothing but horrible misogynistic claptrap from tiny "men".

YES, there ARE people who just hate and FEAR women and they wouldn't give a woman power under threat of death!

Sure for some. But my gut instinct is that for as many people who opposed her simply because she is a woman there were as many people who supported her just because she is a woman. It is a really stupid strategy to base your entire campaign around checking a box. I said here repeatedly that she was making a huge mistake not making this campaign all about policy because Trump wouldn't be able to keep up in a policy debate. She proclaimed she was going to ignore Trump and then turned around and let him dictate the discussion throughout the general election away from policy issues either by the things he said or the things he had done. Trump 2016 is a case study in political cognitive dissonance. People already who were never going to vote for Hillary had to find a reason to force themselves to vote for Trump. I doubt her gender played any roll in that.

What bothers me is that there was no outright admission that this was a factor, and this could have influenced predictions. I think the vast majority publicly acknowledge that gender bias is unacceptable, but an unknown percentage privately feel that women should be subordinate to men. I also believe that there is fear that if a woman was allowed to be President and their biases were to be proven unfounded, equality would be unequivocally established.

You think they went through her emails because she was a woman? :roflol:
They went through them because she was SoS and she sent classified info using an unsecured server. Still playing the vagina card even when it's the Old Maid.
She was treated exactly how a man in her position would have been treated.
Politics is a contact sport. If you're going to hide behind your skirt, perhaps you should stay out of politics.

You don't want equal treatment for women - you want special treatment.
A woman joining the police or fire fighters isn't required to carry as much weight or run as fast so you can say "see, a woman can do it too".

    Good post and true.

Sexism is so deeply ingrained in some people that they don't even realize it's influencing their attitude and opinion.

They cannot accept the fact that women can do, and have done, whatever men do. They are so blind that they use whatever men did as a benchmark for "normal".

Most of these people will never see reason either out of ignorance or fear or both.
