Are YOU a Gentile. Simple question with the hope that except Mormons, Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, etc. simply say, "Yes". This is about gentile as different from "the chosen". Old Testament. Book of Mormon accepted. To hybrids, how do you identify and how come. Goldie Hawn for example. This thread was inspired by "Donor Status and Moi" this forum. And are gentiles less likely to donate to PF came to mind. Moi Not A Gentile Not that there is anything wrong with being a gentile. I mean Philistines were gentiles. And Romans. Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic, regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.
Well there is the half, Askenazi Goldie Hawn Scarlett Johanson who speak of "feeling Jewish" in their soul. @Sallyally Remember our discussion of first Universities, Medical and Dental Schools in California settled by white folk circa 1850 and Australia settled some 70 years earlier. Please Share With The Group. Is there a gene for social consciousness relatively lacking in gentiles?
Dunno if it’s lacking. That’s a bit rough. Philanthropists in Australia are very well represented by the Jewish contingent. Many well known Jewish donors to museums, art galleries, medical research institutes, etc. The Myer family is very well known for the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Isn’t it a tenet of the Jewish faith, as in the Muslim faith, and allegedly in the Christian faith, that to share your wealth or whatever you have, keeps you closer to God? I don’t know why we don’t have many single donors who endowed hospitals and medical schools in Australia as there were in the US. Maybe it’s because we had less money and fewer millionaires than in the US and the situation is different now. More billionaires who feel guilty? More billionaires working off the contempt which is often felt for the man who has made his money by questionable means? There are more generous donors to schools, Unis, hospitals etc now, but this could be because of tax deductions for charitable donations.
I would say ... Kinda.Especially if from the Deep South. Where the word Shiksta is about as familiar as the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ! Or the nearest Jewish Deli.
You wouldn't. as a gentile and "past donor". Lots of other threads for your enjoyment. PAH-Leeze take advantage of them. At some level I do believe the gentile, @Sallyally "gets it". Ask her, preferably by private message so as not to bore the . . . The inspiration came from Donor Status and Moi thread, this forum. G'day.
The definition is “not Jewish”. I’m a Christian who doesn’t attend church. I guess that qualifies as “gentile”.
Congratulations. Most of your brother gentiles are in hiding. Not declarative. BTW YOU have never, ever donated to PF. Do YOU believe there is a relationship? If you don't get it, the gentile @Sallyally may explain in "gentile" to you.
