And it is working because you have not had a mass shooting involving a fully automatic weapon

    Meanwhile think on this

You are rude and insulting. Rational use of your gray matter might bring you to the edge of thinking that such a program would be voluntary. It is highly doubtful and, I think, not a good idea, that people without several years of previous experience and training should be involved in such a program. I am more for ex-military and police as well as other experienced volunteers from the community to serve as guards and let the teachers teach.

Thomas Jefferson had an assault rifle, it was a Girardoni rifle, held 20 rounds, was "semi auto" and could shoot all 20 rounds faster then a musket could get off its second shot..

The narrative that the 2nd amendment was only written because the founding fathers only knew about muskets is false. This has been debunked multiple times..

The whole point of the 2nd amendment is for protection against a tyrannical government.. The AR15 fits that idea more then a hand gun does..

And banning the AR15 will not stop mass killings.. what kind of guns where used in the Virginia tech massacre? 2 hand guns with 10 round magazines.. twice as many people killed..

    Your solutions are garbage

I'm fine with new laws if they will actually work and keep the guns out of the hands of crazy people while not infringing on law abiding citizens rights..
    So whats your ideas?

    TOTALLY false.

    Constitution:
    Article I
    Section 8:
"The Congress shall have Power ....
    To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress"

    Article II
    Section 2:
"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

NOWHERE in the Constitution does it reference anything resembling what you said.

You really do need armed teachers. Otherwise it is too hard to write on chalk board.

As I mentioned in another thread, What schools ought to do is to recruit soldiers leaving the military as security officers instead of trying to cheap out with volunteers. While some may be okay, I think the overwhelming majority will fail at the moment of opportunity. Soldiers are trained to kill at the moment of opportunity.

    https://www.vox.com/2016/8/22/12559364/second-amendment-tyranny-militia-constitution-founders

"When the proposed Constitution was before the people for ratification, many anti-Federalists worried that the new government would be too powerful, and could become tyrannical. In Federalist No. 46, James Madison reassured the public that the many checks and balances in the Constitution — the separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, for example — made it very unlikely that a tyrant could seize power. If a tyrant did, he would speedily be deposed by the state governments, who would lead the armed people in the militias."

The teacher can always use the "I feared for my life" excuse and get some paid time off. It works every time for the cops.

again non of what you purposed would of stopped this last shooting.. He already passed a background check.. most states already have waiting periods, and yes he would of had to register his gun under your idea.. how is having a law to register his gun going to stop him from shooting up a school? And why would a person about to commit mass murder care about a little gun law like registering it?

The only thing you came up with that would make any difference is the mandatory training.. great idea.. make sure the mass murder is a better shot and can kill more people..

Mandatory training? So you want people to become better shooters?

So the potential death penalty didnt stop him.. but you think a little law like registering his gun would have? and even if he did think to himself.. " yeah I can risk the death penalty.. but that minor law with registering my gun is just to much to risk! better get this gun registered before I go on my rampage"

you liberals are an amusing bunch..

Sometimes people get the Federal Constitution mixed u with the New Hampshire State Constitution =

"[Art.] 2-a. [The Bearing of Arms.] All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.

[Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind."
    https://constitution.com/new-hampshire-state-constitution-17842007/

The purpose of the Second Amendment in the Federal Constitution was to give the slavers the right to form militias to put down slave rebellions and to kill Indians and steal their lands. The 1%'ers didn't intend for the poor white guys to use their guns to overthrow them.

The folks in New Hampshire said that the people had the right to kill the politicians when they became too big of a pain in the butt. That's the difference.

Why would any sane person want to have a lot of gun carrying guys with PTSD walking around a bunch of noisy school kids? The murder rate would skyrocket.
