He might be as patriotic and he might not be. I'd err on the side of caution.

Barack Obama is an example of someone who was born a citizen but who grew up outside of the USA and has evidenced an alien perspective and one which is not good for America.

I would favorably entertain rules tightening the eligibility clause to prevent our ever suffering through another Obama-like Presidency....if his doesn't cause our complete ruination before then.

Remember, he STILL has until 2017 to finish his mission of "fundamentally transforming" US.

 

First of all someone who can't run their own personal life or family responsibly should not be in any position to lead or govern. I don't trust them to use good judgement.

And I know what you're saying about about nationalized immigrants who really do contribute and give to this country but it's also like you said, it opens a whole can of worms. Some of the people on here who seem to be for it are also opposing Obamacare as unconstitutional(which I agree with)and that makes no sense to me. You don't get to pick and choose from the constitution as you see fit.

 

So Arnie has alien points of view? Was he transported in from Seti Alpha VI? If you want alien points of view, try West Texas.

Obama has worked out exceptionally well.

Uh, Obama was born and raised in the US. He spent 5 years of his early childhood outside the country. So claiming he is a foreigner is pretty dumb

Even 'if' the law was set aside so he 'could' run, I would never vote for a man who so willingly sacrificed his former conservative leanings to 'please' others. I want a man or woman of 'conscience'. Given some of his more 'colorful' decisions as the Governator, I doubt he has one.

 

Schwartzenegger 2016 - Such a bad idea that it is a nonissue. Oh sure, 2/3 of the country is just going to change the constitution for a guy that not nearly 2/3 of the people even like, even if they didn't think that having a foreign president was a stupid idea. Which they do, and should.


On a side note, while watching Breaking Bad I found out (via the character Elliot Schwartz) that "Schwarz" is German for "black". So Arnie's last name is Blacknegger. Could this be the GOP's answer to Obama?

This is how the Left works. Pick a weak or flawed candidate they would like the Republicans put forth as a candidate and then demonize the strong Conservative Republican candidate.

Arnold had his chance to be a conservative in California but he was pretty much a liberal the whole time and of course he is not a natural born US citizen.

Jerry Brown went over the heads of the Legislature to the people to vote in our Tax Reforms,
of course they involve increasing taxes on the rich. And the State budget is in surplus.

The Arnold was a functional failure.
Not even a Hydrogen or CNG highway.
That would work against those who wish us on a liquid hydrocarbon energy system, y'see.

"A Legislature Out To Get" is NOT an excuse. Or maybe it is, a bad one GOP persons .
Arnold, unlike Obama, has an aptitude for leadership he did not apply.
With California's initiative and referendum system, he had it easier then Truman too.

It's more than a law, it's in the Constitution, and has been since it's ratification.

That said, after how he screwed up California, why would anyone want him as POTUS?

Ventura is surprisingly sane as long as he's not trying to push this Truther nonsense, and even there he can be reasonable, though he does tend to just ignore objections and repeat the same things.

And they will be a sacrificial lamb anyway. The next Presidency is Hillary's if she wants it. I think 2014 and 2016 will be Democrat sweeps. You can fool all of the people some of the time, then we have Republicans, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

 

The birthers would be against the Constitutional Amendment that would be required to allow Arnold to run. That said, he was a terrible governor, why would we want him as President?

It's probably already been said, but no one's going to amend the Constitution just to let Arnold run for President. No point in saying more. We've already had too much messianic fervor with Obama, and Arnold is no messiah.

 

For people advocating that we change the Constitution to allow naturalized citizens to run for President......did any of you people see The Manchurian Candidate or GI Joe? Seriously, you want to make it easier for evil incorporated or COBRA to put a brainwashed President in office?
