Don't know too much about them either, other than the fact their campaign to expose Madison Cawthorn worked. Seriously, did you see some of the videos they exposed about him?

I have told you before that just because you don't want to hear something that goes against your ideological side.. does not mean you can just deny reality and make it go away.

So, some observations.

1.) When a scandal like this arises, there is of course the possibility that the allegations are false. That has indeed happened now and again in history.

But for the vast majority of the time, it ends up that such allegations had hands and feet after all and that the scandal grows and grows and grows.

2.) It's one thing to threaten litigation. It's an entirely different thing to actually follow through and file such litigation, for I will remind, a defamation lawsuit means a discovery process and discovery automatically means sworn depositions under oath and with the penalty of perjury if one lies, which means that in this case, Lauren Boebert would be deposed, on camera, 100%. Also, going through with such litigation requires lots and lots of money. So, it remains to be seen if papers will actually be filed in court and then we will get to see a court process, which would probably take longer than the 5.5 months still remaining until the November Midterm Elections.

3.) It is neither sexist nor is it mysogynistic to call out a hyperpartisan like Lauren Boebert for what she has done. Her actions have absolutely nothing to do with her gender. They have everything to do with her hyperpartisanship and her hypocrisy.

4.) "American Muckrakers" is a legally and correctly registered Super PAC with the FEC,with a physical location in North Carolina, with the following 4 personnel:

David B. Wheeler (co-founder) "is the President and Co-Founder of American Muckrakers PAC. He is a 30+ year veteran of executive leadership in the event management industry, and serves as CEO of International Higher Education Group LLC. David is a resident of Spruce Pine, NC." He is a Centrist Democrat.

Colonel Moe Davis (co-founder, retired USAF) "is the Chairman of our advisory board and a PAC Co-Founder. His distinguished military career included service as Chief Prosecutor of the Guantanamo military commissions and director of the Air Force Judiciary. Moe was the Democratic candidate for Congress in NC-11 in 2020. He is based in Asheville, NC."

"Paul Reid is a member of the Advisory Board. As a New York Times best-selling author, journalist, past Republican candidate for the Massachusetts House, and Polk County resident.

Graeme McGufficke is a Senior Advisor to the PAC, assisting with all facets of operations. He is based in Asheville. Also, the world "Muckraker" is the noun form of the verb to muckrake, which is to search out and publicize scandal about famous people.

I would say that any claim the the Muckrakers are a Conservative PAC would be false, but equally false would be to say that they are a Liberal PAC. What we know for sure is that this very PAC brought down Madison Cawthorne and the GOP establishment was relieved that this happened.

Indeed. And were I a betting man, I would say they are waiting to see if she actually files papers to sue, or not and then decide when to release the next bomb. For right now, time is on their side, but not on her's.

Well, they had videos of Cawthorn and he never denied it. So the legal muscles of this organization don't seem to have been tested yet.

First, it's not debate for you to ask a personal question of me. Whether or not I am interested in this is absolutely none of your business. I am not sure why so many Conservatives think it's ok to ask personal questions, but I can guarantee it is neither part of real debate nor is it in line with PF rules.

As for your second statement, if this is true, then it has a whole hell of a lot to do with the hypocrisy that comes with it. And her voters should know this.

Much like the hypocrisy on your post when saying it's conservatives here that askk personal questions when we both know it's both sides that routinely do that.

 

If Boebert is telling the truth, and this muckraking goes to trial for defamation or libel -- and -- the trial is held in any of the larger towns in the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado, she will win convincingly!

The only thing that might let muckrakers 'off the hook' would be the continuing legacy of the famous court case, "New York Times versus Sullivan (1964)". It held that in many (but not all) situations, it is OK to defame, slander, libel, and otherwise criticize a "public figure" -- especially one that is in the government. But, even then, the issue of "actual malice" must be determined, one way or another.

Uh huh. What's hypocritical about it? Has she advocated for abstinence only programs or something? I don't follow her in the slightest so don't know what she is supposedly being hypocritical about.
