That's a moronic conclusion. I think this is a great country - and great countries don't need hide their moles and warts - it is what it is.

Abortion was legal under the Founding Fathers - up until the 1860's. Why are you trying to replace the original intent of the 'Founding Fathers with radical
    Christian views?

Why did Conservatives try to overturn the Constitutionally mandated counting of the Electoral vote on Jan 6th? How was that "supporting"
    the Constitution?

Is there a "choice" for poor parents who have to send their kids to public school if it teaches only Christian history and thought? No.

It's laughable that anyone mentally stable would think this is our "1776 moment".

    Our society is so spoiled.

Public schools teach Christian history and thought? Really? They do not.

Why can you not see that polygamy is viewed by most all Americans, Christian or not, as an excuse to enslave women and make them little more than property for expanding wealth?

By far, I've seen more efforts from the right to erase history than from the left. It isn't even remotely close.

So funny you make that analysis..... So was slavery! Maybe a light bulb went on and Americans decided it was time to support Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! I know Christians are like a thorn in your side Daniel.

That's probably because you are more focused on monuments than actual history.

What lost cause garbage? I hear it spouted about in some blogs I entertain only rarely. I believe the entire truth is out and available for study. If I can help you in any way in that area I would certainly be glad to.

Help me? I've referenced more southern primary sources from the time period in question than anyone else in the forums. If I can help you learn the history of this era in any way, I'd be glad to.

Well you certainly do not have to be believer of the Christian faith to do so especially the bolded part. And the government is supposed to be secular, not in adherence to a religious faith or dogma. Now progressive or conservative is an entirely different issue and do not go hand in hand.

Depends on how it is taught doesn't it?

What if what is begin taught is

    The 1619 Project: An Autopsy
In seeking to debunk American principles, the 1619 authors were led to ignore history, to disregard some of its most moving and revealing aspects, and, most importantly, to distort the metaphors whereby we became, and continue to become, “one people.”
    https://www.cato.org/commentary/1619-project-autopsy

Should such shoddily researched and filtered history about anything or any subject be taught?

    very true

    http://rationalrevolution.net/articles/history_of_the_separation_of_chu.htm

"When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.
    - Benjamin Franklin: in letter to Richard Price, October 9, 1780"
