I would follow the Constitution. I would encourage people to participate in government regardless of whether they believed in God or not. Really not much change really- except if I could I would not allow corporations, unions or other groups to contribute to political campaigns, and I would create a real, enforceable border policy rather than the one currently in place.

I am disappoint with you specifying America, since I'm not American. Still, I'd hate to be in charge, because to paraphrase a wise man, "the truly wise man knows only how ignorant he is". I would suck at it. My first and most important task would be trying to assemble a decent set of advisors, who represent most sections of society but also who are competent in all fields. That alone sounds bloody hard.

Yes ;) They're obsessed over it enough to whine that it is based off of an ancient Roman festival (apparently atheists hate Romans?) - and yet even Christians who may not know the origin, are still able to get more meaning out of it, ironic no?

Christmas is a national holiday. A lot of atheists, myself included celebrate it.

I actually like ThinkForMyself because he balances out Heretic. He's basically how Heretic would sound if he became an atheist and wasn't as grammatically challenged.

I am not sure that I understand your outrage.

Yes, indeed, the story of the birth of your lord was ripped off form other religions. Cults if you will.

Oh you're saying that any Christians who celebrate Christmas are in a cult? What's your definition of cult, you mean an organization that uses coercion or mind control on its members? Or a new religion that is an offshoot of an established one?

What about atheists who celebrate Christmas, are they in a cult as well?

That would be like saying that our numerals was "ripped off" from the Arabs, or the New Volkswagen Beetle was "ripped off" from Nazi Germany.

    Unity is born through diversity.

    Religions are by definition cults.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cult
    1.
a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.

I did not invent the English language. I just attempt to use it properly.

I think that would depend on the specific atheists in question. Looks like someone needs a reminder that atheism isn't a doctrine..

Put secular humanists in charge. They would at least continue the fine tradition started by our founding fathers.

Really, so do you also consider Bieber fans to be a religious group as well? Come on.

I've never participated in those activities. Would you describe me as a conservative, liberal, or moderate atheist? Am I an orthodox or reformed atheist?BTW, you are also an atheist unless you believe in every god known to man. After all, there's no sure way to know if you believe in the right one. It's not like they ever show themselves. People have to imagine them and they might get it all wrong.

Maybe, the People who are elected to "rule over us" would only need to refer to the supreme commandments, specifically enumerated to us by our Founding Fathers, as qualified and explained in Article Six.

We could be solving for a poverty inducing, "natural" rate of unemployment under Capitalism, through sufficient socialism for public sector intervention in the market for labor that can better ensure full employment of resources in that market; but for mis-guided morals on the part of those elected "to rule over us".

Dawkins and Hitchens are jerks and I wouldn't go to an 'atheist conference' unless there was something unrelated going on there too. It could be said that I consider Frank Black to be a rock god though, so am I a cultist then? Other than metaphorically I mean.

You rob the word of all meaning.

He said that he favors Constitutionalism. Why won't he get Constitutionalism under the Constitution?

How do they worship? What rites or ceremonies do they perfom?
Your emoticon suggests you are very proud of your zinger.
Unfortunately, it is not very well thought out.

In my opinion, we would have been better off, with only the "religion" ordained and established for us by our Founding Fathers, as specifically enumerated in our supreme Commandments and federal Constitution.

    Nope. That is simply asinine.

There are also conferences for Axis and Allies.

Does that make Axis and Allies a religion?

    Yes or no.

    Right.

And what parallels exist between the Constitution and the Ten Commandments?

    Please be specific.

The phrase "Bill of Rights" and "Ten Commandments" are not interchangeable.

One is a legal institution and the other is a religious construct.
