    Out of control???

    http://www.news.com.au/national/is-...-of-a-gun-crisis/story-fncynjr2-1226690018325

    From the same article.

Now wait...shouldn't numbers be going down due to the fabulous effect of the laws....I hope it doesn't happen but if guns are really that available it's only a matter of time before some crazy person goes off.

I didn't realize gun violence was out of control in the land of OZ.

Don't care about the comparison to the US....this commentary is on how the LAWS passed didn't actually stop criminals. Sounds like the criminal element is getting braver eh?

Glocks aren't an illegal weapon in Australia.

I've been waiting a long time to say this..................They are if you don't have State permission to even possess one. YOU MUST belong to a shoot club. You are required to fill out pages of forms. You must get the approval of the State to possess one. You do not own it if the government can come to your door and ask you to give it up. (especially if there is no recompense). You have no protection against illegal search and seizure (warrantless), You must let the redcoats in to search your entire house to check and see if you are in compliance with your licensed handgun.
No, glocks aren't illegal in OZ, but to own one without government approval is.............. In other words, the criminals, who feel so compelled to use them in criminal acts don't bother with getting approval............that does make them illegal to use, possess, or carry.
Hell, slick, you can't buy a bb gun off the shelf in OZ.
    Glocks are illegal in OZ.

Bikies are nicer less violent people by a Long shot .How many of the "shootings " were set ups by the Police ?

Well it has been a while since we have had a mass shooting, and Melbourne has gone from one of the highest per capita gun deaths in the world to seeming obscurity. We are in a phase of some major bike gang violence at the moment, an international group has moved in and the usual mayhem has ensured, so maybe revisit the numbers in a year or two and see where we are at

oh, I see. just a "phase"...............god I love your excuses. We were under the impression that a gun was no longer available unless it is begged for from your government. Gun crime is non-existent in OZ. Guess your criminals failed to get the memo...........Better go get your government issued blanket to protect yourselves.
Question, why aren't your criminals registering their firearms?

We never thought it would eliminate it - that is simply a gigantic straw man. Of course there will be times when the pendulum will swing and gun crime will increase but please

Australia per capita gun homicide rate:=1.06

America per capita gun homicide rate = 10.3

Get back to me when our rate equals yours over a sustained period

Your impression being incorrect is not Australia's problem. Places I can buy guns in Sydney legally

Isn't it disappointing to some that our gun death rate is not the same as the USA's I mean if the meaningless myths and memes of the NRA were to be believed all countries that have any degree of gun control should be awash with criminals (blokes in black hats) shooting innocent women and children

This isn't about America and I stated that in the beginning so please stay on topic eh? So have the gun laws adopted reduced gun violence or not...The articles I quoted didn't seem to think so.

No, please stay on topic...did your gun laws reduce violent crimes in Australia or not.....argue against the reports I provided...don't try misdirection cause what you were originally selling was that if we adopted your laws our own crimes would go down... the reports don't provide any compelling evidence to adopt your type of gun control eh?

Why doesn't your laws reduce your crime HMMMMMM? You were bragging them up not long ago, now your media is actually calling the results you liked to tout as fraud....leave America out of it and gimme your reasons why violent crimes are increasing inspite of the change.

And you act like Australians actually care about the right to arms. Australians are spectacularly uninterested in shooting sports, we have three fifths of nothing to hunt and virtually no opportunity to go somewhere where there still is something to hunt. About all we have to shoot in Australia besides the occasional speed sign is each other.

So, you speak for the entire continent, now? Such arrogance. Arrogance does not equal being right.
I bet there are those who disagree with you about owning firearms. I'd bet there's quite a few, even.

It's fun, I guess, to throw numbers out there, but I'll try to give you credit for making one or two points.
1.) Gun control is NOT criminal control.
2.) Informed citizens who know the reasons for gun control in the previous century are not complying with the laws.
Hmmm... There's really no discussion on those points.

Nice try but no cigar. If Australians didn't like the law, it would have been changed. And speaking of arrogance go take a hard look in the mirror. You bet there are quiet a few. Really your best fact is a guess and you presume to call me arrogant :roflol:

One question, did Australian citizens vote on the law or politicians? Just curious
