Those southern racist democrats were all conservatives.

They just belonged to the Democratic Party back then. Today, they belong to the Republican Party.

Today's cons will lie and pretend those southern racist democrats were "liberals" but deep down they know it to be complete bull crap.

That's basically what I was getting at, thank you for putting it succinctly for me.

How is that funny? Do you think that the Southern Democrats were hardcore liberals or something?

Can't say for sure, but I think even Obama would go for that. He knows the ACA is a compromise.

That's actually several reasons. It's enough to say she is stupid. She makes the public school system seem like Cambridge.

Again, I don't know what bringing up events that happened over 50 years ago really does for your argument.

According to who? It was pretty much a mixture of socialism and fascism, meaning a combination of left and right wing philosophies. What pushed it really towards the conservative spectrum was its fervent nationalism and its ideas of a "pure" people. But, anyways, I think this is kind of a useless discussion anyways since the right-left spectrum is a pretty poor dichotomy. However, my point was that the neo-Nazis nowadays have much more in common with conservatives than with liberals. Do you not agree? I have never encountered a neo-Nazi who supported, say, welfare or the concept of a "melting pot" nation.

What's the point in arguing "what side" he is on?

What does "My No. 1 priority is to make sure Obama is a one-term president" mean to you? Most peoples' No. 1 priority would be to serve this country the best they could. Not McConnell.

Wasn't refuting any of the Palin stuff, Obama campaigned in 58 states, more than any other president in history, stupidity is not exclusive.

I've always thought that quote was a way of him making fun of how exhausting the process had been, not an actual gaff regarding the number of states we have.
But if you choose to believe that, so be it.
At least you understand Palin is an uneducated rube.
    That's a start.

Apparently, to you anyone left of Genghis Khan is a "Radical liberal progressive extremist" (Oh, and btw, I congratulate you reviving "radical liberals" or "radlibs", I haven't heard that term since Spiro Agnew, I guess "nattering nabobs of negativity" can't be far away.)

The sad part of that is that it's not really a joke. I've noticed that IS the main substance of most conservative's "arguments". Facts be damned. I'm right basically because I'm better, smarter, tougher, more moral, etc. than you. Course I think doombug's a Colbert, but just the ongoing popularity of Colbert shows how deeply ingrained this habit is in the present day Republicans. You don't make a spinoff show more popular than it's originator on the basis of just one joke.

Well, we were discussing how the latest polls show the Republicans in the trash can, but we keep getting all these conservatives telling us how wonderful they are

Just as the Muslim posters here assert that it isn't Islam that's the problem but rather the extremists, I say, look at the Christians with that same understanding you'd extend to Muslims. The problem isn't with Christianity but with SOME Christians.

Here's a song which gives you a beautiful, lyrical message and in the video is an avowed Gay man (American Idol Clay Aiken) showing that Christianity works for him, too. And also in the video you will see him interacting and sharing his Christian love with all kinds of children the world over, including Muslim kids.

    Remember this Sadanie:

    There is none so blind
Than he who will not see
We must not close our minds
We must let our thought be free

Let your thoughts be free, Sadanie.

    Let them be free!

Good job. Let's go through the list...

    1. Alaska has a sordid history with Russia, over natural resources. I wonder if you or the guy that compiled that list knew that. Not only that, but she was right to consider Putin a threat... which has been proven time and time again over the last 5yrs. Not only has he waved his firepower in our face, but he's threatened our currency and belittled our President and nation on a daily basis. He's taking full advantage over the fact that we have an incompetent President.

    2. Can't see the fault in #2. She's right. The government has already denied a little 10yr girl a lung transplant, and Obamacare hasn't even been fully implemented yet. That's what we mean by "Death Panel." Of course, I'm sure you guys are actually looking for the verbiage "death panel" in the health care bill, as if they'd word it that way. What chance does her little son with Down Syndrome have in a world that denies children health care?

    3. I read 'em all too (online, anyway). Maybe she just couldn't think of one off the top of her head, or she was concerned with giving any credence to any single newspaper? What if she had mentioned a newspaper by name? Would she be attacked for reading that particular newspaper? It's a non-winning, gotcha' question. What's the point of it anyway?

    4. I forgot that we're all supposed to memorize the 30,000 Supreme Court decisions we've had since the inception of the country. Roe v. Waid, however, is at the top of everyone's list. Why? Because it's recent and because it's a hot button issue still at the top of the headlines today.

    5. Ok... she made up words. So did Bush. At least she can count: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2201061/Barack-Obama-hails-proud-words-Made-USA.html + https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBHPvfAt5ow and she can pronounce common words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlkK65y_-T4.

    6. That whole diatribe was confirmed correct by a historian. Look it up. Ok, I'll do it for you: http://hotair.com/archives/2011/06/06/historians-agree-palin-was-right-about-revere/

    7. Ok, you got one. That's almost as bad as Obama's 57 states gaffe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpGH02DtIws

    8. She called it "blood libel." So what? You call Tea Partiers racist and Nazis. I assume you're exaggerating?

    9. Ahhh... Canadian health care. They used the hospital, because it was the closest hospital to their location at the time of needing a hospital. Ever see the geography of Alaska (especially near Skagway) or Canada (in the Yukon) for that matter? It's not exactly easy to get around up there. You do what you have to, in order to survive... and sometimes that means going to foreign hospital, because the closest one in your own country is too far away. http://www.esquire.com/the-side/opinion/sarah-palin-canadian-health-care-031010

    10. I'm shaking my head... So she was being nice to a caller, who was pranking her about something she probably knew nothing about. Got it.

So, it must really pain you that we have attractive, intelligent women in the Conservative branch of politics. I know it scares the crap out of liberal politicians and the media.

And you're both wrong... imagine that. Go to the same school? Guess it doesn't matter - they're all teaching the same crap.

I'm glad you agree... Are you prepared to drop the slavery and civil rights argument, then? Kind of sick of hearing how Conservatives are at fault for slavery and Democratic Jim Crowe laws.

It was pretty much a Leftist regime. Socialism, Fascism, Communism all fall on the same side of the liberty spectrum (the Left, which is nearest to tyranny). Conservatives have only ever fought for increased liberty and limited government. You can be patriotic and not be a NAZI or Fascist. Love for country is not synonymous with tyranny.

Let's see... First, I've never met a neo-NAZI. However, I've never met a Conservative that was against a "melting pot" nation... I HAVE met Conservatives that are against Multi-Culturalism, which is completely different. I'm against Multi-Culturalism, as I've seen the effects in other countries and understand the effects it would have in America. I'm not sure if neo-NAZIs support welfare or not.

What's the point in arguing "what side" he is on?[/QUOTE]

There's no point. We're having a conversation. He was/is a Democrat and a high-ranking official of the KKK. We were talking about the KKK, remember?

The polls showed that Romney was going to win in a landslide, so I'm not sure the Republicans aren't in the bottom of the trash can mixing' with the seepage.

You apparently don't really understand that the Tea Party does not equal the Moral Majority. I've come across that over and over when dealing with leftists. You think Tea Party is just another word for really conservative conservatives. Or super social conservatives. You make that apparent by your mention of contraceptives and abortion. Those have nothing to do with the Tea Party issues of fiscal discipline, limited government, balanced budgets, and getting rid of Obamacare. It's tiring that over and over, you leftists pontificate without really knowing what you are talking about.

    - - - Updated - - -

Because clearly anyone who supports balanced budgets is in the klan. Keep dancing for me.

    Well there is the problem!

You think a balanced budget is a ridiculous fantasy but deficit spending for ever and ever is the height of sound fiscal policy.

Oh and not knowing what limited means. That's a problem.

The TPs now disavowing their entire wacko bird agenda in favour of just waxing nostalgic about the Clinton years is quite a hoot!
