People don't know it yet, but the SC just declared you have no right to privacy.

 

I have been wondering if this could be true. Like most I expected I huge red wave in the midterms but since the overturning of R v W I have notice a crazy jump in the post social media like Tik Tok against the verdict. Most of these are from young people like millennials and Gen Z. I wouldn't be surprised if these people have never voted in the past since turnout from this age group is traditionally low. If they can sustain their outrage and turn out the vote in the midterms this age group they could definitely make a difference. Of course the other possibility will be this will no longer be trending by then and they will have moved on to the next big outrage and be too busy to vote like before. Should be interesting to see.

Short of Biden sending troops to Ukraine I think the Republicans are done. Most people view inflation as temporary but SCOTUS decisions are forever, and besides the Republicans have NO viable plan to end inflation I've seen

 

There are some but I doubt many of them vote Democrat under any circumstance. (if they think women should vote at all).

And the Republicans have NO plan to end inflation either.

I’ve heard this many time before. It’s not the beginning of the end for either major party. One must remember we have a two-party system contrary to all other modern democracies. What happens is when voters get angry at the party in power, their only viable alternative is the party out of power.


Folks may get mad at the Republican Party for overturning Roe and maybe keep the democrats in control of congress this midterm. But the Democrats will do something, pass something that makes folks angry at them which will lead to the return to power of the GOP. It’s always worked this way and will so into the future. There’s always some hot issue replacing a previous hot issue and with that, changing votes. Remember neither party is liked by most Americans. Gallup put party strength or affiliation, identification at 31% democrat, 29% Republican. That leaves a whole lot in-between the two parties who disliked both. It’s these in-betweeners, who we call swing voters, independents that will decide this midterm and all future elections.


The question left the question to be answer this midterm, will abortion or the overturning of ROE replace inflation, rising prices in the minds of independents, swing voters in deciding how they’ll vote this November. Time will tell.

I love it when liberals go off the deep end without looking at the facts. Yes, there is a public outrage. Yes, the media is feeding the frenzy. But two weeks from now, we are going to be saying, "So what?" Eventually, people will realize that the Roe v Wade ruling means absolutely nothing. So, the states can decide for themselves whether to allow late-term abortions or not, and they can define the threshold between an abortion and a late-term abortion. That is not much of a change from Roe v Wade. In the Roe v Wade ruling, the SCOTUS stated that a woman had a right to an abortion up until just before the end of the second trimester. But the ruling fell short for two reasons. First, it was not based on a Constitutional provision, and second, it was not based on science. Therefore, the ruling was arbitrary.

What happens now is that the states can decide the thresholds. The Congress had an opportunity to set those thresholds for themselves, but that did not happen. The DNC could not reach an agreement within their own party. The GOP candidates will point this out during the runup to the mid-term general elections. By then the economy, immigration and crime will back as the primary deciding points of the elections. There may be some impact from this issue, but the GOP will still gain control of both houses. There will still be more GOP state leadership. What cannot be overlooked is that more than 1 million registered voters changed their party alignment from DNC to GOP since Biden took office.

 

Most of these are the looney left. They don’t vote Rs anyways. If they vote at all. Bernie’s not running so they most likely won’t vote.

 

True. The ruling party is blamed for whatever is wrong at any given time, and the other party gets voted in, and the same thing happens to them.

A bad economy is always blamed on the sitting president. Biden get the blame now, Bush got the blame in 2006 and 2008, Bill Clinton in 1994, G.H.W. Bush in 1992, Reagan in 1982, Carter in 1980 and on back. The party out of power always blames the party in power, nothing new here. You can take this all the way back to George Washington.


The party out of power doesn’t have to have a plan to improve the economy, they don’t have to say a thing, do a thing, stand for anything, etc. All they must do is be on the ballot as an alternative to the party in power. That’s history and politics 101.

 

I have read thousands of your posts on several forums and have yet to see anything that is either logical or truthful

 

so you think the popularity of the day should control supreme court decisions. I guarantee you most Americans probably were OK with Separate but Equal or forcing AMERICANS of Japanese ethnicity into concentration camps when that happened.
