Yeah, nobody had knowledge of it because nobody on either side found it to be a comment worth making a stink about. But low and behold when a Republican says... All hell breaks loose and you flip the **** out.

Yeah, my grandmother don't drive either and her ID is current. How did shutting down (if that really happened) discriminate? Did it target ONLY blacks or were there other races involved?

All your black friends vote democrat because they're ignorant enough to believe the same things you believe, so I would assume they're ignorant enough to call black Republicans Uncle Toms and the likes of such childish repulsive insults. You think anyone that doesn't think like you is a dirty racist. That's why y'all lost.

If someone like John Wilkes Booth hadn't shot Lincoln he would have deported all black people in America. The modern world would be completely different. We can speculate if that is a good or a bad thing but the fact that Lincoln was prevented from doing that resulted in all of us being alive today in our present world.

It doesn't matter if there's 146,100 years between elections (and elections occur year round) the government cannot place undue burdens on the exercise of the vote ESPECIALLY when those burdens violate the 14th amendment.

Do I think that closing the locations that provide ID's in predominantly Black counties after requiring people yo have those IDs to vote is an undue burden?

    You betcha!

OK. Black people should give thanks to any 171 year old Republicans they meet. Anyone Republican younger than that is a bigot or racist..

    A couple of misconceptions.

First, the Republicans created a few Democratic districts with 70-80% or higher Democratic vote thus ceding these few districts to Democrats while creating numerous with 55% or so republican majorities. Thus you see a state like Florida with a significant mismatch between total Dem vs Rep votes cast and the actual election results.

Second: Districting and gerrymandering doesn't really apply to statewide or national races.

So? Her ID is current. So? How is that relevant?

Yes, the counties that closed the offices were predominantly Black. These closings happened AFTER passing the ID requirement. Of course, the reason was money. Funny though, the money existed right up until it was time for Black people to get the required IDs. Then, unfortunately, "we don't have the money." Undue burden.

Rich men always get stupid poor men to do their dirty work and dying for them.

The Repubs didn't want slavery in the new territories. They wanted it for white men, which is why they passed the homestead laws. The slave owners wanted to expand slavery and to even capture Cuba. They wanted more imports from Africa. The Repubs didn't want any black people. The slavers wanted more. The stage was set for the war. The white Union troops fought for their economic issues. They didn't fight to end slavery, although it did become a limited war objective. The white Rebel troops fought for local issues, which involved retaining slavery.

As a group, the white Southerners were willing to live with blacks in their midst, but not as equals. The white Northerners and Westerners had no interest in living with blacks under any conditions.

It's a myth that kidnapped Africans came to America as immigrants. They came as slaves in chains and died as slaves. Their children were born here and were not immigrants but they were not Americans and had no rights under the law.

The fake news is really good at fooling people about how the Presidential election is run. On tv they see the State maps with the blue and red counties and get the idea that the Repub or the Dem candidate won because so many counties are either red or blue. Gerrymandering is primarily a factor in Congressional House elections. It has no effect in Presidential elections.

The irony of democrats is that they're quick to celebrate people like Margaret Sanger, Abraham Lincoln, and Robert Byrd, and quick to chastise people like Ben Carson, Milo Yannolpolous (sp), and Condaleeza Rice all in the name partisanship. And they wonder why they lost.

Also in state house and senate elections. Elections which then further redefine boundaries.

I can keep going, but you get the point. You were lied to. I've posted half of the counties that closed their DMV offices and only one has been predominately black. It pays to do research on your own instead of being lazy and listening to whatever they throw at you. http://www.dmv.org/articles/alabama-to-close-31-drivers-license-offices/

Feeling the squeeze of a constricted budget, Alabama’s chief enforcement officer announced that 31 of the state’s 78 driver’s license offices will be closed, starting October 1.

    Affected centers include:

    • The Russellville office on North Jackson Avenue.
    • The Moulton office on Market Street.
    • As well as offices located in the counties of:
      • Baldwin.
      • Bibb.
      • Bullock.
      • Butler.
      • Chambers.
        • Cherokee.
        • Choctaw.
        • Clay.
        • Cleburne.
        • Coosa.
        • Crenshaw.
        • Escambia.
        • Fayette.
        • Geneva.
        • Greene.
        • Hale.

        • Lamar.
        • Lowndes.
        • Macon.
        • Perry.
        • Pickens.
        • St. Clair.
        • Sumter.
        • Tallapoosa.
        • Washington.
        • Wilcox.

So she wasn't laying around crying about not being able to get an ID. She found a way to get one and moved on with her life.

And stop saying they closed predominately black counties, that was more fake news shoved down your throat

So you don't like voter ID because it is racist but it's OK for the DNC to do it. That is really funny! So the DNC discriminates based on race just like you said.

What I know about Lincoln, he toyed with the idea of repatriation prior to the emancipation proclamation. We need to remember, 50% at least of the culture had accepted slavery for so long it was hard to imagine slaves assimilating into our culture. Lincoln was not a racist. Given the mindset of the time it just seemed like the most workable thing to do. We need to view the whole subject as it was viewed at the time of which we are speaking.
However, in hindsight, today I think America would be far better off is we could export those citizens with a strong propensity for socialist institutions to countries like say, Sweden. Many Progressives have a hard time assimilating into our Constitutional system of government. In that I sympathize with Lincoln.
I believe a large segment of the Black American population has assimilated and overcome great obstacles. I am proud to stand with them as Americans.
