One side is always on the right, but rarely correct.

This is one of those cases when neither side is often correct. The truth lies in the middle of them both

    Only in Sean-Tucker-Laura world...

But that's the way they keep the sheep angry... you imply it did happen (elsewhere, not to them)

True, although there is still a general pattern to most of it, much of which I agree with...

Many blue states have put public health ahead of economics.

This is a normal reflex in a self-respecting democracy.

And don't worry, the order of things will not be changed, the Blue States will continue to give money to the Red States, which they have been doing for 30 years already.

Why don't you admit he submitted budget cuts as I have cited and if you care so much about it how about going on record opposing Biden's proposed spending increases?

Trump’s $4.8 trillion budget proposal revisits rejected cuts

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump unveiled a $4.8 trillion election year budget plan on Monday that recycles deep, previously rejected cuts to domestic programs like food stamps, Medicaid, and housing as the recipe for wrestling the federal budget back into balance.

Trump’s fiscal 2021 plan promises the government’s deficit will crest above $1 trillion only for the current budget year before steadily decreasing to more manageable levels, but only by relying on optimistic economic projections, dramatically scaled-back military operations overseas, and proposed cuts to agency budgets that run directly opposite to two previous budget deals signed by Trump.

Bush and the Congress knew the best way to get us out of the 2001 recession and into a full recovery was through conservative fiscal policy and it would produce a strong increase in revenues and they used that to lower the deficit from the recession high $400B to that measly $161B PERIOD. There were no such projections we had just gone through a dot.com bubble burst, economic slowdown and then 911 hit just as we were recovering. The rate cuts, and keeping government regulations off the backs of business was their plan. Their mistake was phasing in those rate cuts through 2006 instead of immediately going to them but then fixed that in 2003 and we had a record 15% in tax revenues. Obama and Biden never came close and Biden is taking us back down that road. And the same in 1997, the combination or tax rate cuts and welfare reform with stricter work requirements put people back to work as taxpayers instead of being a government expense.

So here's the question are you willing to trade lower government revenues for higher tax rates? If so explain why.

And let's not forget the Obama stimulus was promised to hold UE to 8% and then it would rapidly fall to full employment. Instead it shot to 10% and didn't even get back down to that 8% for almost 4 years. The Republicans handed the Democrat Congress a 4.5% unemployment rate January of 2007, it took them 124 months to get back to that and took Republicans taking back more and more government power to do so. UE hit 14% during COVID and 10 months later we are at 6.3% heading back to full employment.

Yes, he submitted budget cuts and also submitted budget increases that were more than the cuts. So, all he did was change where the money was being spent. So he did not cut spending. His budget request was the largest in the history of the country. Why is that ok with you?

I am against any and all deficit spending, I do not care who the POTOUS is, it should not be done except in the rarest of emergencies.

With interest rates effectively at zero percent, and a fed forecast that will hold them there for 2021, and foreign bonds drifting in and out of negative rates, investors have no other alternative than to fight it out in stocks.

It took Obama over five years to get to 6% UE, Trump did it in 9 months, fighting Dem shutdowns along the way. As demonstrated by Biden’s speech last night Dems still think only money from Washington DC will grow the economy and create jobs - unfortunately the opposite usually proves true.

LOL, no one is arguing recovering from the recession did reduce unemployment
And then . . .? Onward to 3.5% and the LOWEST RATES for lower wage people, POC and women. AND an economy that took a major blast from a global pandemic and sprung back in a few months.

True, but that was the same under Trump. In fact, Trump constantly attacked Powell (who he nominated), for too high interest rates.

Today, however, we got news of 6% annual GDP growth in the first quarter. I could only imagine how many "thank you Trump" threads we would have on here, if he would still be in charge. Not a peep from the usual suspects, however, just sour grapes over Biden's speech from last night.

Did you vote for Trump if not then for who? Did you vote for fiscal conservatives for Congress? Who?

Did you vote for Biden? Do you support passing all the spending he proposed last night?

And the fact is while desirable to cut overall spending simply growing government less that we grow the economy is what has worked in the past.

It's complete B/S. All this decriminalization of smoking marijuana (which I favor, btw) but smoking is smoking! And then they keep harping on cigarettes and tobacco. Either put your health platitudes where your money is and completely ban tobacco (which would be ridiculous with the marijuana issue as it is) or quit trying to convince anyone that anything you're doing is anything other than an intrusive money grab.

I voted for the only one that would have cut the size of government, Johnson.

I did not and I do not.

Which has not happened in a long ass time

For the Democrats, doom and gloom started when Trump was elected. I daresay. Pandemic and 1/6/21 were G*d sent, and widely celebrated.

Angry Conservatives keep anger to themselves, and peaceful, tolerant enlightened Liberals kill cops, riot, burn, loot.

Biden is lucking out so far, but his cheating ways will catch up to him.
Audits are going to show the Biden votes were phony and that Trump won the 2020
by a huge margin. Then we will see how much people like his phony record.
