Is anyone surprised to see Biden pushing to kill our energy industry? Biden still beholden to Ukrainian corrupt gas companies apparently

smart move, most of the time I say buy American, but when it come to resources like oil, I am ok with buying other countries resources to save ours when so much cheaper

    It is a good move.

I paid $1.85 for a gallon of gas today and I can't remember the last time it was this cheap. 2016, perhaps (?).

The U.S is at least 15 years behind in electrifying transportation.

There is no future for oil.

The U.S. is the only country in the West still investing massively in it, and that's because the oil lobby is powerful in Washington.

And destroy the environment in the process ? If we don't get it from our own supply - or from Canada which is cheap - were do we get it ? There is no shortage of oil in the world - and unindustrialized big polluting nations will be happy to sell to us. Destroying the environment in the process.

Really bad idea- if you care about the environment. I agree that shale oil is unprofitable and dirty so we should stop this -as we have plenty of oil in North America to maintain relatively cheap supply.

... there was no popular vote contest. If there had been, Trump would have went to California, New York, and Illinois to campaign. We have NO CLUE what a real popular vote contest would look like. You are acting like the popular vote means something in an Electoral College election.

Not sure why you would involve Ukraine - which is completely silly - and such silliness only detracts from an important topic - because your initial point is a good one. Biden will follow the Obama policy which had the same goal.

Is Norway not in the West? Equinor, which is partially owned by the Norwegian government, is increasing investment in petroleum production this year.

Hillary wanted to raise money in those states rather than campaign. Money is number one on her list, but man she convinced the lolberals that she was one of them and would fight for them.

I realize you don't like that, but facts are facts

can you imagine the outrage if Obama lost the popular vote but still won... I can

Which will lead us right back into the hands of the neocons and their military contractor wars for oil. It's amazing how Liberals don't see how US Self sufficiency can wean us off of the control of those warmongers around the world.

Not like what? Every US corporation can deduct taxes paid to foreign governments from their IRS bill. Is the mortgage interest deduction a subsidy?

Good catch - this is loopy doopy land. These people are stupid and do not understand the biggest environmental threats the world is facing.

Please find stronger arguments. Canada has all the gas we need and mexico can chip in --- this is down a strange rabbit hole.

The US will use 20 million bpd next year. roughly 46% of US refinery supply comes from 70+ different nations.

There are only two choices and "Use Less" is not one of them. We know we are going to use that much next year -that is reality - not fantasy.

    1) Pipelines - US and Canadian Production
    2) "Nigeria - one of our larger suppliers" and/or other high Polluting non industrialized nations.

Not building Pipelines - or drilling - will not reduce oil consumption by one drop = Zero effect on the CO2 equation - and Pipelines are far more energy efficient than Tankers - and far more environmentally friendly.

The worst though is that by purchasing this oil from non industrialized polluters - we 1) transport our pollution problem to somewhere else 2) increase that pollution problem 3) incentivize industrialization

The NGD says - "No exporting our pollution problems to other nations" Guess Cortez and Biden didn't get the memo because that is exactly what being against pipelines and North American production does.

    #1 issue is Ocean Pollution
    #2 industrialization
    #3 population growth

Then comes CO2 -but this issue we are discussing does not effect the CO2 equation.

You didn't answer the question. Is the mortgage interest deduction a subsidy? Should Amazon not get to use those same tax breaks?

Your post is pure idiocy. Let's try this another way so perhaps even you can understand it.

If you and I are playing chess and I take out your King, you don't get to claim it illegitimate because you took more of my pieces. That was NEVER the game we were playing or a metric that even mattered. Trump was not competing for the popular vote at any time. Anyone thinking it means something is just in their little partisan butt hurt world.
