    Uhh no it's not wrong

    When you message a friend on facebook you are not sending that message to your friend's device, but rather the data of your message is maintained on the site's server. This is why you can edit posts on facebook after you post them, and your friends can see your edit after you make it. You can't make that edit with a standard text because your message isn't saved to a server, but rather your message is directed to your friend's device. An SMSC's primary purpose is to direct your message in the right direction. and incases where your message fails to reach its destination, they can temporarily store your message as semi-constructed data, but even then so that message isn't uploaded to a server
